EZ Pass Warning!

I had an interesting conversation with a customer at work today. This woman and her husband were recently driving down the Garden State Parkway.  This week they received a letter from EZ Pass.  The letter stated that they went from “point A” to “point B” in “X” amout of time, so they should watch their speed.  There was no traffic citation, but it makes one wonder how long before such fines start being issued upon unsuspecting drivers.  Those who use EZ Pass (or as I like to call it, Sleazy Pass), be aware that your speed is being tracked by those devices.

  1. More than just speed is being tracked.

It was already many years ago that the E-Z pass info was used in court to convict someone. If I remember right it was a murder case, but the E-Z pass was used to prove that the killer’s alibi was a lie, and that he did drive toward the crime scene at a given time. (too long ago for me to recall details)

They’ve also been using turnpike tickets to monitor speed for a long time now. ANY info they collect will definitely be used against you, and they’re grabbing all the info they can.

    1. Yep. Even before ez pass they gave a friend of mine a speeding ticket over 15 years ago based on incredibly short time between on/off.
