You probably didn’t hear about this one in the national news, but with everything else going on these days, it might be something to pay attention to, especially since it’s reportedly been happening a lot lately.
Last Sunday, a semi carrying uranium ore caught fire near the Honeywell Plant in Metropolis, Illinois. The fire began in the engine of the truck cab and was subsequently put out by the fire department. Officials stated that the truck was not at the facility itself and there was no immediate danger. The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission has been notified.
No one was hurt and the fire didn’t spread, but how often are trucks carrying uranium just bursting into flames in this country??
Apparently pretty often.
According to one commenter who claims to live near the plant on one of the few local news outlets that even reported on the incident, this is the third “accident” of a similar nature regarding uranium in the past four months at this location alone.
Note the UF6 she is referencing stands for “uranium hexafluoride”.

There’s a lot we need to know before we jump to any assumptions here:
1. Was this spent uranium, or newly mined?
2. Is this the standard procedure for transporting the stuff?
3. How flammable is uranium?
4. Are these really unusual events in the history of uranium transportation, or does it happen often and we’re just not told about it?
In short, what’s the whole story, Melissa? (author) Half of the important info only amounts to “dirty-bomb” fear mongering, when these truck fires could be caused by negligence, or a tight-wad business owner ignoring regulations to make a few bucks.
Did nobody notice the town’s name? Metropolis.
Why worry? Superman lives there, he’ll save us. So long as Honeywell doesn’t deal in Kryptonite.
Yea….Honeywell is that company that sells thermostat devices with electronic eyes that can spy on you and your power usage in your own home and sells everyone on it by telling them how great it is that you can regulate your temperature from work and have it ready for you when you get home.

When I was working for Carrier Enterprise (You know, the company that fired me for saying, “Ugh! I’m so frustrated right now, I can just shoot someone) we had a meeting with a Honeywell salesman who came and told us all of this and of course people/sheeple in our meeting room ate it right up and started grabbing their stupidphones and saying, “Wow that would be a great app to have on my phone. Then when my kids come home, I don’t have to worry about them messing with the thermostat.”
Once again, UNFRIGGINBELIEVABLE!!!!
In any case, didn’t they try to smuggle or lost uranium as it traveled across the Southern border twice last year? It seems uranium is becoming a problem. Maybe the Feds are stopping the people from acquiring the uranium they need to kick start their flux-capacitor in order to make their time machine go back in time to fix this mess we are in. 🙄
