San Francisco Bay Area Experiences Mass Exodus Of Residents

CBS News – by Len Ramirez

SAN JOSE (KPIX 5) – The number of people packing up and moving out of the Bay Area just hit its highest level in more than a decade.

Carole Dabak spent 40 years living in San Jose and now she’s part of the mass exodus that is showing no signs of slowing down.

The retired engineer’s packing up and calling it quits about to move to the state of Tennessee.

“I loved it here when I first got here. I really loved it here. But it’s just not the same,” Dabak said.

Of course people come and go from the Bay Area all the time, but for the first time in a long time, more people are leaving the Bay Area than are coming in. And the number one place in the country for out-migration is now, right here.

Russell Hancock with Joint Venture Silicon Valley said, “Silicon Valley has been this place that is growing. And it was mostly due to people relocating here and relocating from other parts of the world. That’s changing.”

Joint Venture Silicon Valley’s own study of the out-migration says workers are moving to Sacramento, Austin, and Portland due to a number of factors. But topping the list is the high cost of housing.

“You can’t even contemplate getting into the housing market here,” Hancock said. “And I don’t mean just service workers, but highly skilled professionals. The tech elite are having a hard time affording reasonable housing in Silicon Valley. That makes it difficult for employers to recruit.”

Operators of a San Jose U-Haul business say one of their biggest problems is getting its rental moving vans back because so many are on a one-way ticket out of town.

Dabak cites crowding, crime and politics as the reasons for her own exodus.

“We don’t like it here anymore. You know, we don’t like this sanctuary state status and just the politics,” she said.

She plans to sell her home for about $1 million, buy a much larger place near Nashville for less than half that and retire closer to family and friends.

  1. San Francisco is a Nancy Pelosi shit hole. she has ruined the whole region. $75,000 salary will put you in the street living in a car. Been thru Tennessee about 45 times myself, much better choice, you’ll have a much better life there.

    1. My problem with that Mark is: Is she another libtard sick of what the politicians and policies she has supported for those 40 years who is moving to a red State only to help destroy Tennessee next?

The Free State Project cannot get off the ground after who knows how many years. Yet these libtards seem to be able to move enmasse to red States and turn them purple or blue.

    2. Tennessee is nice no doubt
      But
      A lot of sheeple there
Completely unaware of the shit in the game
Tons still vote along party lines and cannot think for themselves, if their parents voted Democrat they will too and not question it
And some of the narrow mindedness of the Bible Belt can spin your head around

If I were to move there
It would be out in the middle of friggen no where on a mountain where I could see them coming from miles away
I’m sure it’s a better choice than where they are coming from
But with their twisted minds , they will fk up Tennessee even more in no time

Really , anymore.. no State is safe
It’s all going the way of the NWO plan
      Time to L&L

  2. Gotta live somewhere, go where your money last the longest, sure libtards everywhere, all you can do is find the best for your money. Been to every state at least 35 45 times (that’s conservative number), best for your money, Tennessee.

Sure, not all will agree, I’m telling you guys because I’ve crossed this land more times than I can count, believe me, I know what I’m talking about.

“Tennessee issues permits for the concealed or open carry of handguns, but not loaded long guns. However, an individual is free to carry a loaded handgun or long gun in their car without a permit as part of the expanded “castle doctrine” self-defense law.”

  3. Migratory Californians destroyed Washington state in the 90’s, and they’ll do the same to anyplace that doesn’t get too cold. The rust belt is kinda safe, but they are a determined lot, them Migratory Californians.

  4. Watch out, Tennesee. Many times its a ruse. It happened to arizona, texas, etc. When california moves to your state, CALIFORNIA moves to your state. this woman is retired and wants a cheaper house. But her ways are still there. Bad news

  5. In the 90s, it was Idaho (went for two job interviews there late 90s and we saw many, many California license plates). Early 2000s, it was likely Texas (the cops loved it–constantly handing California license plate drivers “speeding tickets”), but east and central, not far west Texas. I don’t think most Cali folks could handle this area anyway. If it is Tennessee, good luck–drove through west to east once, pretty state…Memphis a traffic nightmare though.

  6. “….“We don’t like it here anymore. You know, we don’t like this sanctuary state status and just the politics,” she said…..”

Well then leave your politics behind when you move.

  7. I’m looking at a bunch of the comments, and the common theme involves Californians exporting their madness to their new surroundings.

The solution to this is to TALK TO YOUR NEIGHBORS as soon as they arrive. Give them a new community to belong to, and remind them that “everyone here hates California”.

Humans will naturally try to “fit in” with their new society, but the existing society has to make that possible. If you alienate these people upon arrival simply because they’re from California, California will be all they know.

The lack of community is one of the roots of the destruction of this country. Instead of having a community to belong to, people isolate themselves in their home with the brainwashing pumped in electronically, and don’t get the chance to form any bonds with their neighbors….. bonds which are necessary to their collective defense.

  8. “We don’t like it here anymore. You know, we don’t like this sanctuary state status and just the politics,” she said.”

STAY THE HELL OUT OF OREGON!!!

All Trenchers are more than welcome, however. 🙂

      1. All the larger cities here are commie bastions anyway, Mark.

Scumbags like her would never buy property in an area such as this… unless they massively fortified it.

Pigs are few & far between in this neck of the woods.
