A recent article in Motherboard reveals how sports stadiums are spying on everyone’s instant messages, Tweets and sentiments. (I couldn’t find any pictures of a U.S. sport stadium security room, so I posted one of a 2014 World Cup security room.)
Sports stadiums across the country are using ‘Babel Street’ and ‘Babel X’ to spy on fan’s sentiments and social media accounts.
Babel X has the ability to spy on 25 social media websites and can surveil millions of url’s.

Last year the ACLU, revealed how police use these devices to spy on everyone’s social media and a 2014 Lexis Nexis report revealed the tools police use to spy on social media. A year ago, ‘The Intercept’ warned everyone that the CIA is investing in firms like Geofeedia to help law enforcement spy on social media. Sports stadiums and police use ‘sentiment analysis’ to spy on fans
Last year, I warned everyone that police would begin arresting people based on their ‘sentiments‘
People being arrested because of their sentiments, what could possibly go wrong?
Let’s say, you’re a NY Yankees fan jeering and booing Boston Red Sox players and you Tweet the Red Sox suck or something similar. When out of nowhere you’re surrounded by police and security and kicked out of the ballpark. The police inform you that you’re being charged with ‘inciting a riot or terrorism.’
Congratulations, you’re life’s been ruined by corporate/police spying sentiment analysis.
Last year, CLEAR a biometrics company installed ‘fastlane’ fingerprint lines at Marlins Park in Florida.
In 2016, CLEAR announced they’ve partnered with Amazon, American Express and U.S. Customs to help expand their reach and it seems to be working. Currently, CLEAR is being used in 18 cities across the country.
Soon CLEAR, will be in every sports stadium in America if DHS has its way.
Amusement parks like Disney World and Universal Orlando are also using facial biometrics to spy on their guests.
‘Enhanced searches’ don’t begin to show how Police, DHS and private corporations are destroying our rights.

University is working with DHS to develop a new mass-scanner that would spy on everyone:
Northeastern University is developing new scanning technology to detect guns, bombs, or other threats under clothing and inside backpacks.
Unlike the machines at airport security check points, this would all happen in real time.
“If a potential security threat is found, that person would be flagged,” explained Martinez.
The device functions like one of the electronic toll gantries on the Massachusetts Turnpike. Instead of cars passing through, it would be a lot of people at once. Martinez says it would be mobile and could be moved around to sports stadiums, colleges, or public spaces.
This cutting edge technology is also getting the attention of the Department of Homeland Security. The research is now being partially funded by the federal agency.
But privacy advocates say this is essentially surveillance technology. And if it showed up in a public space like Copley Square, it would cause concern.
“It would be conducting a 4th amendment search on people walking down the street and that can’t happen without a warrant in the United States,” said Kade Crockford with ACLU Massachusetts.

That’s not new technology; it has existed for years in the form of THz or mm wave imagers. I recall reading about the NYPD having such a device several years ago. It was big, clunky, and only useful out to several yards.
The thing is, while THz and mm waves might penetrate clothing, they won’t penetrate commonplace metal objects. So what are they going to do — check if any laptop, beer can, metal lunchbox, or other such item has explosives or a gun hidden inside of it? To do that you need x-rays or a manual inspection.
If they’re spying on everyone’s texts at these things, people can have a little fun by feeding false information into their texts. This sort of surveillance generally works only when people are completely unaware of it. When you know you’re being spied upon, you can use that as an opportunity to deceive the spies.
Regarding the CLEAR lanes, I won’t use those. If they start making them mandatory, then I won’t pay to attend events where they’re used. I’ll take my money elsewhere.
I’ve grown to loath the sport distraction rackets, utterly worthless. Didn’t mind mixing it up in the arena when the body was willing giving and taking a beating must have had some purpose, but I’ve had enough of the ball.
Seems rather pointless to pay ‘good’ mammon to see games that are fixed to begin with anyway.
That goes for all sports.
