Sutherland Springs Church Will Be Demolished

The Daily Caller – by Joshua Gill

The pastor of Sutherland Springs First Baptist Church in Texas announced Thursday that the building will be demolished.

Pastor Frank Pomeroy, who lost his 14-year-old daughter and half of his church family in the massacre, told the Southern Baptist Convention that the building reminded people too much of the shooting. The site of the church may serve as a memorial, but for now the congregation of First Baptist will hold their services elsewhere. The best way to move forward, Pomeroy said, is to begin anew.

“There’s too many that do not want to go back in there,” Pomeroy told The Wall Street Journal. Pomeroy at the time was not certain what would become of the church, but confirmed Thursday that it would be razed to the ground.

“The pastor expressed his desire that perhaps the best way forward is to have the church demolished and replaced with a prayer garden,” SBC spokesman Roger Oldham told USA Today.

Oldham told The Associated Press that Pomeroy believed the church was “too stark of a reminder” of the senseless tragedy in which a shooter killed 26 congregants, including eight members of a single family. Oldham said that the surviving congregants have not had a chance to come together and make a joint decision about the church in the wake of the shooting, but those who have spoken out about the decision, like Charlene Uhl, expressed agreement with Pomeroy.

“There should still be church but not here,” said Uhl, whose 16-year-old daughter Haley Krueger died in the shooting.

    1. My thoughts exactly. Sandy Hoax and 9/11 all over again. Destroy the evidence by demolishing it.

Surprisingly I haven’t even read up on this whole event yet and already I find it full of shit.

  1. You can still eat at Lubys in Killeen. It’s a Chinese buffet place now. You can dine at tables located over spots where a dead body was once laying. Eating an egg roll where 26 people died. It’s creepy as hell. They should have tore the place down. I agree, the church needs to go. It won’t be long till there’s another attack. From zirconium spark balls in Dallas to the Vegas debacle. Don’t worry about what they say about things. Get ready already to protect yours and your own. This isn’t going to stop until they break everything.

  2. Quick!! Destroy all the evidence at the crime scene (a la WTC). The video of the wounded lady describing bullets raining in through the roof…I’d like to know what caliber the holes in the roof decking is/are. Helicopter gunship like Vegas? Exactly WHO was in the church that needed to be erased?…the rest were just collateral…and the stupid “lone shooter” kid was a patsy. I dunno…the whole thing wreaks of a planned hit/CIA cover-up…AGAIN! Holes in the roof…holes in the official story.

  3. Gee, to me the old church and sign were nothing to write home about.
Better than a strip mall. But not much.
Probably why they could payoff the pastor and some parishioners.
Pastor gets a new church and parishioners get new trucks and loans paid off.
Very small town churches I saw in my younger days were much nicer.
And they were 100% funded by tithes and donations.
We all need to keep our eyes open over who donates the land and who pays for the new church.

    1. WOW…………………………… WHATTA RAT HOLE…….. THE ONE WITH THE SHORTEST TAIL DISAPPEARS FIRST!!
