Three including police officer shot in Louisiana, state authorities say

The Guardian

Louisiana state police said a police officer and two other people have been shot in south-western Louisiana.

State police superintendent Mike Edmonson said troopers were on the way to the scene in Sunset, about 70 miles west of Baton Rouge, after getting a call around 4.45pm on Wednesday.

A local ambulance company said it had eight ambulances and three helicopters responding to the scene.

Edmonson said the shooting reportedly took place near a convenience store. He said the officer was “responsive” but he had no details on the extent of the officer’s injuries – or those of the other two people who were shot.

Tonette Thibodeaux of the Sunset police department confirmed that an officer was shot but said she did not have any details.

  1. “Acadian is responding to a shooting in Sunset. 8 ambulances, 3 helicopters responding.”

ONLY because a pig was shot.

Would have been coroners wagons if the pig had been the one doing the shooting.

“He said the officer was “responsive” but he had no details on the extent of the officer’s injuries”

    Hoping for the worst.

  2. First we have this…

“Louisiana police say they are in a standoff with an accused shooter after a police officer was shot in south-western Louisiana.”

    Then this…

“Two people were stabbed about three blocks from the gas station, Guidroz said, and the officer was shot when responding to that scene.”

Why is this guy stabbing people when he has a much better option – a gun?

    Somethin’ screwy about that.
