The Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office has said that Director of the Air Force’s School for Advanced Nuclear Deterrence Studies on Kirtland Air Force Base has been charged in the rape of a 4-year-old girl.
41 year old Adam Lowther was arrested and charged with the horrific crimes, being one charge first degree criminal sexual penetration of a child under 13 and two counts of criminal sexual contact with a minor.
A spokesman from Kirtland Air Force Base, James Fisher confirmed the arrest and detention of Lowther.
Fisher said that Lowther did not live on the base however, and he’s not sure where the child abuse occurred, and then refused to make further comment.
Authorities say that a forensic and physical examination of the four year old child confirmed the sexual assault had occurred.
Military authorities as well as civilian law enforcement are now cooperating in the investigation into Lowther.
Lowther has a Doctorate in International Relations from the University of Alabama, and according to his LinkedIn Profile he was a Professor at the Air Force Research Institute at Maxwell Air Force Base in Alabama starting in 2007 before taking the Director role at the School for Advanced Nuclear Deterrence Studies in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
He has several recommendations from the Department of Defense and was at least during his career a notable member of the Armed Forces.
It’s a travesty that this pedophile could have went unnoticed for so long. He’s currently being incarcerated at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Albuquerque awaiting arraignment.
