GoFundMe Pulls Truckers’ $10 Million Freedom Convoy 2022 Fundraiser – Will Disperse Funds to Charities

Gateway Pundit – by Cristina Laila

GoFundMe on Friday pulled the truckers’ $10 million Freedom Convoy 2022 fundraiser.

The company said they “now have evidence from law enforcement that the previously peaceful demonstration has become an occupation, with police reports of violence and other unlawful activity.”

“Following a review of relevant facts and multiple discussions with local law enforcement and city officials, this fundraiser is now in violation of our Terms of Service (Term 8, which prohibits the promotion of violence and harassment) and has been removed from the platform,” GoFundMe said in a statement.

Instead of returning the money to the donors, GoFundMe said it will disperse the remaining $9 million to charities.

“Organizers provided a clear distribution plan for the initial $1M that was released earlier this week and confirmed funds would be used only for participants who traveled to Ottawa to participate in a peaceful protest. Given how this situation has evolved, no further funds will be directly distributed to the Freedom Convoy organizers — we will work with organizers to send all remaining funds to credible and established charities chosen by the Freedom Convoy 2022 organizers and verified by GoFundMe.”

Donors have until February 19, 2022 to request a full refund (click here).

  1. Wow. Communism 101. The transfer of wealth from one group to another.

Congratulations everyone, you just gave your money to the elites. How do you feel now? You just been scammed.

  2. Every “charity” that they choose should back door the funds right back to the freedom group
Once that money is given to them , the go fund me policy becomes null n void

    Do the right thing
    The world is watching you

Don’t let these fcks tell you what to do or who you can give that money too

  3. The plan the group has going for it is to have as many of the donors as possible, work with their banks to do a charge-back rather than a refund. F**k the charities! They are saying that each charge-back costs gofundme approximately $15 per transaction. Is this a transfer of wealth from gofundme to the banks? Ouch! Crap! Anyway, if this works, gofundme will take a hefty beating as the banks make money. Damn! What a scam! They have lawyers and a banking accountant working with them, to make this as painful as possible for gofundme. I’m not sure if they are donating their expertise or not, but if they are genuine about helping out with the cause, my guess is that they are. They better be! It would be the right thing to do. They are already using a new donation platform called givesendgo. The people who are getting their money back one way or the other, are talking about doubling their donations through the new platform.
