Neighbors Threaten Family Over… Child’s Handicapped Ramp

The Colorado parents of a teen with cerebral palsy were told by the city they were legally permitted to build a ramp at their home to assist their child, but now neighbors are balking about it.

KKTV-TV reported Vincent and Heidi Giesegh from Fountain, a city outside of Colorado Springs, saying their neighbors are even threatening legal action over the ramp they put in for their 16-year-old daughter.

“As she goes into her spastic modes, we could just tumble down the stairs and both of us could get massively hurt,” Heidi Giesegh told KKTV.

KKTV contacted the builder of the neighborhood, which is still under development, who said they too have received some complaints about the ramp.

In addition to being told by the city that they could build the ramp and widen their driveway, the neighborhood doesn’t have home owners association fees, which might have otherwise required approval from the community.

The local news outlet visited a next door neighbor who declined to comment.

“It’s kind of irritating,” Vincent Giesegh told KKTV. “I mean we’re trying to do our best to assist our daughter with her daily needs to get in and out of the house.”

The family has reportedly reached out to a local disabilities advocacy group for help in light of the legal threats.

  1. The despotism in this country just keeps getting sicker and sicker. People want to know why this country is all screwed up? Just look at most (not all) of the people! All they do anymore is fight, bicker, lie, steal, cheat, deceive, and destroy each other. They are full of greed, lust, covetousness and are unbelievably lazy. Jesus said it best, a house divided cannot stand. Oh and the other one was “in the last days iniquity will was gross”. I guess it goes hand in hand here in the good ol U.S.S.A

Also want to say thank you to From The Trenches Staff for calling out as I have had the same reservations about the lack of quality posts on his site. Seems like lately I could get most of his stuff from CNN. The ability to post and communicate to one another on this site gave me another great web site that I had never seen before. Thanks again for all you hard work.

Camp FEMA doesn’t seem like such a bad idea – for some people.

  3. The sad part is that, it is those very same people that would turn you and I into camp fema itself. Those that don’t learn from history are doomed to repeat it! I’m not sure if I can really blame them on their own. They have been taught from the finest schools of propaganda that Rothschild money can buy. Just like my Lord said, “forgive them Lord, for they know not what they do”.
