wow..that’s new. I thought I read all of the Sherlock Holmes stories in my younger days, but I don’t remember ever reading anything concerning the Jews and/or Freemasonry. Was this written by Conan Doyle or a TV / Hollywood script writer?

Anyone know the title of the story this excerpt came from?

All I know is the clip is from a 1979 (wow, 38 yrs ago) movie called “Murder by Decree.” Not sure if the material came from Doyle beyond the original characters and premise. I’d like to know, too, Jolly.

  2. Freedom Paluzza says:

“An examination of the facts will illustrate that Sherlock Holmes was indeed a Freemason. It is a well-known fact that Watson’s Literary Agent was a Freemason. Sir Arthur Conan Doyle was made a Mason at the age of 27 in 1887 (the same year that the Master made his appearance in Beeton’s Christmas Annual).”

This appears to be a episode not written or based on any writings by Arthur Conan Doyle. Christopher Plumber plays Holmes in this episode. Don’t know if this helps or not.

All clues help, and thanks, Paluzza

BUT…. Holmes and Watson are fictional characters. Are they described as being Freemasons in one of Conan Doyle’s stories? I don’t remember that, either.

It doesn’t surprise me at all to find out that “Sir Arthur Conan Doyle” was a Freemason, but I don’t remember him transferring that “honor” to his characters.

Good find, Galen. I had never run across this before.

  5. Ex-Moron says:

This whole episode was about Jack the Ripper writing that the “Jewes” did one of his real crimes, found on a wall or buillding. It was removed by an official because it was obviously of freemason origin, as is the whole story if you research it.

Freemasonry pledges to serve the Queen. Its real English history about protecting the aristocracy from bad rumors, and a warning to stop trying to blackmail them, by killing as many hookers who could have been involved in the blackmail. Jack was a freemason & surgeon, who got his perps wrong, on occasion. And intentionally misled others at different times.

The best show of secret signals Ive ever seen. CP was great.

    Elementary my dear Watson….

I suspect the killer was a free mason by the name of “Foster Brooks”.

For the youngins… you might want to google that name on utube 4 the punchline.
