Had to catch the archive today. Excellent broadcast again Henry, thank you.
The other day I was listening to a video of Michael Hoffman speaking about the time the railroad was being laid in our country and the pumping in of Chinese to do the labor. Well, an American man and his crew went to the fellas home that was running the crew, and all these men told him they would burn his home down if Chinese hiring was not ended. I may have some of the details in error, but the point is clear. These men were NOT going to put up with the taking of Americans jobs and they were going to burn his home down. The hiring of foreigners was halted according to Hoffman, and if I recall the date accurately, this was in the early 1800’s.
