Addict congressman returning to work—still hasn’t talked about his vote for drug testing the poor

Rep. Henry How about all government employees get drug tested weekly at least and fired on the spot if dirty?

Daily Kos – by Barbara Morrill

Well, bully for him:

The Florida Republican congressman who was busted for possession of cocaine in November will return to his day job on Capitol Hill next week.  Rep. Trey Radel, who finished a stint in rehab late last month, is expected back in Washington when the House returns next Tuesday evening, according to a source familiar with his plans.

Should Radel be faulted for having an addiction? Or course not. But there is the little matter of his vote—made, for all we know, while he was as high as a kite—for forced drug testing of food stamp recipients.

It’s not the addiction. It’s Radel’s hypocrisy and apparent need to stick it to those who need a helping hand. Unless it’s his hand.

  1. When I worked for the feds, in the 1980. The great, we all bow in reverence, Regan, made a demand that all federal employees be drug tested. The test was to be witnessed by two people. A lot of the people I worked with, including me, said when they veido tape Regan and his wife pieing in a cup, they we will do it also.

  2. The answer here is legalise drugs. take all the profit and crap out. Screw the term “doctor” since it TRULY IS FRAUD!!!

    1. Absolutely TestPilot, if they legalized all drugs then I could bet that many if not most people would not use drug to begin with. I am sure of it
