CNN Quietly Changes Story that DOJ Held Back Ferguson Robbery Video

WizzBang – by Warner Todd Huston

Looks like CNN is trying to cover Obama’s rear end by quietly changing its story about how the DOJ’s Eric Holder told the Ferguson police to withhold the video showing slain teen Michael Brown robbing a local store. It now appears that Obama wanted riots to happen in Ferguson.

Early on Saturday a conflict between the local police in riot plagued Ferguson, Missouri and the federal government came to light over the release of the video of the store robbery that allegedly depicts slain teen Michael Brown robbing a local store only hours before he was killed by police. CNN reported that the feds delayed the release of the footage by telling the local cops not to release it to the public. The police eventually released it anyway, but only after nearly a week of rioting.

One of the reasons the police finally released the video was because the community was calling for more transparency from police. But CNN initially reported that Obama’s Department of Justice told them not to release the video.

Friday’s release of the store-theft video by Ferguson police occurred over the objections of federal authorities, a law enforcement official told CNN on Saturday.

Ferguson police had wanted to release the video Thursday but held off when the U.S. Justice Department asked them not to, arguing that doing so would increase tensions in the community, the source said.

But Ferguson Police Chief Thomas Jackson released it Friday, announcing for the first time that Brown was suspected of stealing cigars from Ferguson Market and Liquor shortly before noon August 9, minutes before Wilson encountered and shot him.

The above paragraphs appeared in a story CNN posted on Saturday morning. But later in the day this rhetoric was mysteriously removed from the CNN story without any note that it had been done. But the DOJ involvement in the video release was mentioned by several other sources, many citing CNN. So, we know it was in the story at one time.

Still, at least one other reporter passed this info on to the public. Goldie Taylor of NBC Tweeted the following:

But note what this means. This means that the DOJ did not want made public information that might cast a bad light on the slain teen, info that might prevent more rioting. Eric Holder’s DOJ wanted to facilitate the martyrdom of Michael Brown and the truth did not matter.

One is almost tempted to believe that Eric Holder and Barack Obama wanted riots in Ferguson.

Further, why would the so-called “most transparent administration in history” urge less transparency, especially when civil unrest might result from the secrecy?

Move along, people. Nothing to see here.

Can’t even trust the damn MSM anymore with stuff they’re not supposed to post.

    1. So Holder’s DOJ held onto the robbery video. CNN also reported that the killer cop didn’t know Mike Brown was a suspect in the liquor store robbery at the time of the shooting. This has had “False Flag” warning signs since the story broke. I believe they may have milked this headline grabbing story for all it’s worth. Let’s see now, what would be a big enough story to put the invasion of our southern border and the Israeli genocide on the back page for another week or two?

      1. Merely a coincidence that he just ‘happened’ to have robbed a liquor store earlier?

        How convenient.

        AFTER the fact.
