DIY Neosporin Ointment made from essential oils. Learn how to make your own! Prepared-Housewives.com #diy #essentialoils #neosporinointment #preparedbloggersPrepared Housewives – by Michelle Boyken

Scraped knee, minor cut, bruise, splinter and mosquito bite. This sounds like typical injuries your child may be sporting right this very moment. But would you believe this happened to me all within 2 weeks last summer? Lucky for me I had just whipped up a bottle of DIY Neosporin Ointment which I affectionately nicknamed my Boo-Boo Stick!

This homemade ointment consists of 3 powerful essential oils that quickly address pain and stinging while reducing the risk of an infection. I can tell you from personal experience, wounds heal much quicker with this remedy than with typical over-the-counter first aid creams. The bonus is all of these ingredients are natural – no chemicals or synthetic additives!

  1. Yes Missy, Good info.
I`m still waiting on those other herbal guys to get back. I am about ready to give up on them. 🙁

      1. Don`t know if I should call and make a complaint with my bad attitude today.
I hate it getting blown` off like that when I usually never blow off people.

        1. All right, Dan, take a deep breath. The day is what you make of it.
And it has been my experience that pot growers are a lot like fishermen, as the end result tends to grow exponentially with the telling of the tale. You ought to have seen the one I grew and oh man, the one that got away.
Maybe when you come out here to visit me, you can stop by Chris’s in Colorado and test his product, or what the hell, maybe even go fishing. 🙂

          1. L O L , yes it is Henry. I just got off the phone with that herbal company that has been blowin me , and three others from here off and I tuned them up. 😉 . Yes they are going to get ahold of these three and send them their herbal preppin` price guide right away.

Yes Henry, we really are going to try to make it out, last years accident really put a stop to things for us on my end. We will try though for late summer hopefully though .
We talk in private maybe eh Bro.

          2. digger,
can yall stop by Louisiana on your way and pick us up? It is only 800 miles out of your way.
            Just kidding bro.

    1. great stuff at the Power Hour Mall that is where I get my needs its all organic, no pasturazation or radiation processes.

  2. I saw this and I was like this is good! In SHTF scenario, we will eventually run out of Neosporin. I am starting to make a file of all these home remedies, I am going to start learning how to make these oils, if I can!!

    1. IN Corvallis at the OSU outreach a group has been making essetial oil extractors that work with ice and a microwave.
a link. I got this from them last summer after watching a demo.

Check it out. Getting the plants in raw form and making the oil yourself allows you to control every step.
      Good post Missy

      1. Thank you Nottoobitter! The link is great, I just can’t afford it right now! I added it to my favorites for when I have extra cash!! Again Thank you so much!!

  3. Yep Missy good article!
I make something like this including everything but the Melaleuca and Witch Hazel and add rose oil, evening primrose, and a bit patchouli (Cause I like the scent) and add it to a carrier oil like grapeseed or jojoba oil and maybe some coconut oil (Whichever I have on hand) put it in a bottle shake it and use it after a shower. Soothing and scentuliscious 🙂

    1. That sounds wonderful!!! 🙂 I Love patchouli, one of my all time favorites. Everytime I find a patchouli candle I buy it!!

I wish I had learned to do things a long time ago, but I guess it is better late than never!!

      1. 🙂
I hear ya on the candles!!!
Always liked the spicy, woodsy, and a little mossy scents (Add in a just little amber and some clarey sage 🙂 they didn’t have around years ago, so got into making my own, then that lead into oils.
Yep, no time like the present! If I can help ya out on getting started just let me know 🙂

        1. Great RT, Thank you! Now that it is spring, I am focusing on growing!! 🙂 It is so weird how I can grow a pretty flower or bush all day long, but food and herbs are giving me more of a challenge! But I refuse to give up, I will learn how to garden, this is only my 3rd year in trying, and every year new challenges!! But hey it keeps me on my toes!! When I am ready to do oils I will definitely let you know, I will need all of the help that I can get!! 🙂

          1. Hey Missy You will do Great!
An easy and neat plant for you to try is pineapple. Just ask someone in your produce dept. for any extra pineapple tops they might have. They’ll wrap them in some wrap for you and give them to you 🙂
Just let it/them sit on the counter 5 or so days and stick the bottom in the dirt in a pot or in the ground. Water once a week or so as you do your other plants (I watered through the top leaves down). Eventually it will flower (months) and a baby pineapple will grow from that spot. takes awhile longer, it’ll get big & you will smell when it’s ripe. Yum! Just let me know when your ready to do oils, love working with them!

          2. RT, That is something I never thought of!! I would Love to pick your brain, I could learn a lot!! I will ask next time I go and if they don’t have any, then I will buy a pineapple and do that ! I Love pineapple! Thank you again for the offer!! 🙂

          3. Welcome Missy! The flowers are pretty and the baby pineapples look too cute 🙂

Paul, I don’t see why not? You’ll just have to eventually put it in a bigger pot . I would give it a try 🙂

  4. I just ignore everything that doesn’t need stitches, and if it does need stitches, I use electrical tape.
