NEW ORLEANS (AP) — A June 11 sentencing date has been set for former New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin who has been convicted of bribery, fraud and money laundering..
A jury convicted Nagin on Wednesday on 20 federal criminal counts. The bribes came in his two terms as mayor from 2002-2010.
The 57-year-old Democrat is remembered for his impassioned pleas for help after the levees broke during Hurricane Katrina. Prosecutors say the crimes spanned both terms, including the time after Katrina devastated the city.
If you are a mayor or congressmen you are doing something illegal these days. So when you see the headline you are like well that’s not a really a surprise.
The surprise was that he didnt get to buy the jury on this one. That SOB stole a lot of our dollars after Katrina. He was a POS mayor and I pray that when they sentence him in June he goes to Angola, not some cush prison.
Seems to me, if any “We The People consenting/court sanctioned” spying is going to be happening, it’s oath breaking officials that are the ones who need to be spied on and they need to be spied on and stopped FAST
I hate Nagin, he is a piece of scum. He and Landrieu, that B***h. Louisiana is corrupt, always has been. I am so glad he was found guilty, because he is guilty of a lot more than that!! I hope he rots.
Hope he sings like a bird to save his ass from the Black Pipe he will be running from in prision…
Should we be surprised? He’s from New Orleans, one of the biggest crime capitals of the country. Hope he rots.
Amen NC, NO sucks!! The cockroaches literally in the French quarter have human faces, they are so scary. I hate that city. But I had better shut up my boss lives there!! 🙂
Hang the sumavabitch.
Hey ray. ha ha.
There is no form of human treachery lower than the political figures that dwell in the cesspool called New Orleans.
