Rose Gill Hearn, who served as Commissioner for the Department of Investigation under former Mayor Michael Bloomberg, has joined Bloomberg’s new eponymous consulting firm, the Daily News has learned.

The pro-bono consulting group, Bloomberg Associates, is expected to visit international cities to give advice on issues the billionaire former mayor focused on in New York City during his 12 years in office: public health, economic development and environmental policy, among other issues.

When he left office, Bloomberg took with him to start the firm a large circle of top aides and appointees, including former transportation commissioner Janette Sadik-Khan; former media and entertainment commissioner Katherine Oliver; and former cultural affairs commissioner Kate Levin.

As DOI commissioner, Hearn headed up the city’s main watchdog agency. In that role, she actively tried to keep her distance from Bloomberg’s inner circle and the heads of agencies she could have potentially investigated.

Now she will work next to them as a colleague.

A spokeswoman for Bloomberg Philanthropies confirmed that Hearn joined the firm but did not provide any details on what her role there would be.

Bloomberg also named Hearn the chair of the city’s Campaign Finance Board before he left office.
