My name is Charlesetta Taylor and I live on the north side of St. Louis. I’m 79-years-old and grew up in the well-kept home I currently live in and love, which has housed three generations of my family. Our lovely home saw a total of 13 children, including my 4 cousins who lived with us, grow from childhood to adulthood.
But my home and the homes of my 46 neighbors are threatened with destruction. The city wants to give my community to the National Geospatial Intelligence Agency (NGA) for its relocation.
The NGA is currently considering three other sites. None of these other locations would require the condemnation of an entire neighborhood of homes.
The NGA hasn’t said that it wants to move to the north side, but the city is proceeding with its plans to acquire our property. If we don’t want to sell, the city will condemn our beloved homes through eminent domain.
Our homes are not for sale.
We are proud homeowners and most of us are elderly. We’ve lived in this neighborhood for generations and do not want to move.
We need your support. Please sign this petition to tell the NGA to take our neighborhood off its list of locations that it is considering. Help save our neighborhood.
