Info Wanted On Motorcyclist Chase McNeil’s Death

Joe McNeil, owner and operator of The Micro Effect Broadcast, lost his 18 year old son in the hit and run covered below.  If you have any information that would shine light on this incident please contact the appropriate authorities.

Glades County, FL. — The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a hit and run with death traffic crash between an unknown vehicle and a motorcycle on CR 720 near Shawnee Farms Road that occurred possibly during the nighttime hours of 3/3/17.  

As a result of the crash, a male motorcyclist Chase Alan McNeil, 18 of Clewiston, FL is deceased. FHP is looking for an unknown vehicle with right front damage possibly with yellow in color paint transfer on it.

The unknown vehicle was traveling north in the southbound lane of CR-720. The motorcycle was traveling north in the northbound lanes of CR-720. For unknown reasons, the two vehicles collided in the center of the roadway on CR-720. The vehcicle fled the scene. The motorcycle was redirected into a ditch, partially water-filled, on the west shoulder. The cycle driver fell and landed in the ditch.

After an unknown amount of time, he was located by a passing FWC officer at 11 a.m. the next day. The officer rendered aid, and summoned EMS personnel. Glades County EMS arrived on scene and later pronounced him deceased.

  2. my condolences to the mcneil family. Chase was very special. an excellent musician. and fun to be around and to talk to. i will miss him. i loved that kid. i was daggers to him and he was my kiddo. may there be a special place waiting for the driver. i think that the person should be shipped to idaho to face judgment there. let them explain to the family what happened. and why they left a young man to die that like.
    i cannot tell you how sad it makes me joe. i truly loved that kid.

  3. When I was an EMT with a volunteer fire dept. the hardest were the 18 year olds who thought they were invincible. Tough age. I’ll never forget the 18 year old who died in a vehicle accident and left a baby. I thank God he had a baby and his genes lived.
