Man Accused of Threatening to Kill Boehner Over Unemployment Extension

Roll Call – by Daniel Newhauser

Updated 3 p.m. | An Indiana man has been arrested by the FBI for allegedly threatening to kill Speaker John A. Boehner of Ohio over his refusal to pass an unemployment extension, according to court filings.

Brandon J. Thompson, 32, of New Castle, Ind., faces federal charges for allegedly making email and telephone threats to an elected official, according to a press release. FBI agents arrested Thompson at his home Thursday night, where he admitted to the charges, according to a criminal complaint. He faced a U.S. Magistrate Judge Friday morning.

Thompson is accused of obtaining Boehner’s wife’s personal cell phone number and leaving voicemail messages in early May to relay several threats against the speaker, stating among other things that he would “get his hands on him,” and “rip his fucking head off,” because he “shoulda extended unemployment insurance.”

On May 1, Boehner’s wife Debbie reported to Capitol Police that she received a threatening voicemail.

“I’m coming after your oompa loompa fucking husband. He should … he shoulda extended unemployment insurance. Now it’s too late. Imma rip his fucking head off,” said the voice on the message.

Five days later, on May 6, Boehner’s wife again notified the Capitol Police of an eerily similar message: “You tell you husband to redo the unemployment extension because I’m going to come for him. I’m going to rip his fucking head off. He’s not untouchable. I will get my hands on him.”

Boehner has so far refused to allow a vote on an unemployment extension.

FBI agents tracked the number to Thompson. In the course of the investigation, agents also found that Thompson is neighbors with another man who was investigated because his IP address matched that of a threatening email sent to Boehner though his office’s website. Investigators believe Thompson logged on to his neighbor’s unencrypted wireless router to make the threat, according to the criminal complaint.

Thompson had received unemployment checks of $341 per week until the legislation authorizing the payments expired. He stopped received payments on January 11.

Phone records show 19 calls made from a phone owned by Thompson to Boehner’s wife’s cell phone between April 8 and May 6, according to the complaint. Thompson had five protective orders against him, filed in 2001, 2002, 2005, 2008 and 2014.

“Free speech is the cornerstone of our democracy but threats of violence have no place in our civil society,” said Joseph H. Hogsett, U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Indiana, in a statement. “People who are inclined to make them need to know that they violate the law and they will be aggressively pursued.”

  1. Law makers and politicions make too damn much money and are out of touch with average and low paid people.
Those F`ers should not make no more than minimum wage at best. Screw those politicions. I think they should all start jumping like those damned bankers and the sooner the better

  2. ““I’m coming after your oompa loompa f#@king husband. He should … he shoulda extended unemployment insurance. Now it’s too late. Imma rip his fucking head off,” said the voice on the message.”

I’m sure Thompson is just one out of thousands that have sent Boehner threats. You’d have to be naive to think otherwise. This is just an excuse for them to come up with more tyrannical laws in the future. Make an example out this one to put the fear in the rest.

Maybe if “Crying Boehner” was not committing treason on a daily basis and would do his job right, he wouldn’t be having these threats. But a guy like Boehner, of course, is never wrong. He can NEVER do anything wrong. I mean he’s the “Speaker of the House” and is he’s also a part of the Communist/Zionist team, don’t ya know. I mean we should worship the guy and all those in government like him, just like the one reporter says to her colleague about Harry Reid, “He’s a very powerful man”.

    HANG ‘EM ALL!!!

  3. These politicians are walking a very thin line. I wouldn’t be surprised at all if some people start taking shots at them. But these are just the front line thugs. The worst ones are behind closed doors pulling the strings. I mean they really have figured out a way to screw everyone over around them. It seems this is what our country has become. They just give American families a few crumbs to get some food and maybe have a cookout with friends and other families. There was a time where the American family was the dominant force and this country better get back to that or there is going to be hell on this planet. The politicians don’t care about American people anymore. I guess some did many years ago but not now. The only reason they want the American people around is so they can have their power. They do nothing for this country anymore. Can’t even pass a bill to give people a few bucks to eat or pay bills. Pure scum.

  4. Threats don’t kill. Guns do.

These clowns need to quit wasting breath, and start utilizing ammo.
