iHLSA Methuen Mass school will soon deploy an automated system to detect and track a gunman on campus.
Methuen Mayor Stephen Zanni and other city officials will soon attend a demonstration of the technology developed by Massachusetts-based Shooter Detection Systems.
According to the Security website, the smoke alarm-sized system, which is fully automated, will give police a shooter’s exact location in real-time.
The system relies on sensors to send an alert to police within one second of a gunshot being fired, said Fox News. Once the sensors are activated, they begin recording from inside the building, so first responders know what’s happening before they enter the vicinity.
School officials say the investment will dramatically improve current school lockdown procedures.
New England saw one of the worst school shootings in U.S. history when a 20-year-old gunman killed 26 children and adults at an elementary school in Newtown, Connecticut, in December 2012.

Iv got a great way to end world hunger. I have built a machine that if someone is about to die of starvation the sensor detects this and calls unicef. Then unicef comes to the rescue. lol
I think they would be better off putting pepper spray cans in the halls and if the alarm is triggered they deploy. EVERYONE is knocked down and unable to breath.
What about an ultra sonic weapon that detonates ammo? One shot triggers this and the bullets in the mags(across the whole property) all pop rendering them useless…….or just put it on every entry into the building.
