Firefighters are starting to tame the Colby Fire in California.
But it’s given little relief to some residents of Glendora who were forced to evacuate their homes.
On Friday, some 2,800 residents were allowed to return home, only to find smoldering piles of rubble.
[Ray Parayno, Manager, Mary Immaculate Concepcion Mission]:“In the 15 minutes that we had to try and gather everything—not much, I even left my wallet and watch and everything, but we tried to get as much as we can.”
In total, the blaze burned five homes, and damaged 17 other structures.
The fire started after three men were in the process of building a campfire and used paper to feed the flames. The fire was spread by high winds, officials said.
Bail has been set at $500,000 for each of the men—jailed on charges of recklessly starting the fire.

What a waste. 2,800 homeless, and 1,700 acres destroyed by three probable drunks trying to stay warm.
Trying to start a fire in high winds with paper. Hmmm….
Must have been college grads.
