Would-be robber tried to steal from the wrong chicken joint

She’s no chicken.

A plucky Queens mom of five fought off a bandit who tried to rob the chicken restaurant where she worked — by grabbing a kitchen knife in each hand and telling him to scram, the woman and cops said Tuesday.

Ruby Shehzadi, 39, was cooking french fries at Chick In in Queens Village — her first job ever — at 11:45 p.m. Sunday when the bandit whipped out a knife, held it to her co-worker’s neck and demanded cash, she said.

Shehzad grabbed two 6-inch knives from a cutting board in the kitchen.

Holding one in each hand, horror movie-style, she told him to get lost, she said.

“I said, ‘go, go!” she recalled. “I was crying. My whole body was shaking.”

It scared the thief so much he bolted empty-handed, she said.

Shejzadi, who immigrated from Pakistani, started working at the restaurant three months ago after her husband had a heart attack, she said.

“She is such a gentle person. She is the last person that you would expect to do that,” her boss, Rosina Ishaq, 32, said.

Shehzadi is still stuned by how brave she was in the moment — but said she’s been freaked out ever since.

“I’m so nervous. I haven’t slept since Sunday,” she said.
