A supermarket employee fatally shot three co-workers before killing himself inside the store in northeast Pennsylvania early on Thursday, state police said.

Randy Stair opened fire at a Weis Markets in Eaton Township, about 25 miles (40 km) northwest of Scranton, shortly before 1 a.m. EDT (0500 GMT), Pennsylvania state police said. The 24-year-old was carrying two pistol-grip shotguns in a duffle bag when he arrived for his overnight shift at 11 p.m. on Wednesday, police said.

Stair killed Terry Sterling, 63, Victoria Brong, 26 and Brian Hayes, 47. He continued firing throughout the store before fatally shooting himself in the head, police said.

It was not immediately clear to police why Stair shot the three employees.

State troopers responded to the scene shortly after receiving a 911 call from a witness who escaped the store unharmed, according to a statement from the Pennsylvania state police.

The store had already closed at the time of the shooting, police said.

  1. Well this was not a good thing for sure. No motive at this point. Perhaps more gun restrictions though, if the people fall for it.

    1. “Perhaps more gun restrictions though…”

Exactly what I said when I sent it in, Katie.

  2. It would be nice if idiots like that just took themselves out. Are they afraid to die alone? Chicken shits!

  3. “It was not immediately clear to police why Stair shot the three employees.”

He had a gun and he wasn’t afraid to use it… against UNARMED persons (then himself).

When are these stupid sheeple going to recognize who the REAL enemy is, and start smoking pigs instead of each other! 😡

    1. “At the end of the 37-minute video, created May 11, he paused and was reflective.
“What’s going to happen in the future after this to prevent this from happening again?” he asks.
“And the answer is you can’t prevent it. You can only endure it,” he answers.”

      WRONG!!!

If everyone was armed, THAT would prevent it.

      Total whack job, Angel!

    2. The article says he was making vid. games for 9 yrs. which would put him at about 15 yrs. old. Where were his parents, he was obviously living at home, I assume.

I hold his parents responsible for this heinous act for not controlling their son in all aspects possible. While he had so much time on his hands to develop games he should have been out busting rocks and his back at the same time.

I would imagine there were many indications he was not right in the head. He just wasn’t happy. Hey, no guarantee of happiness in this life, buddy. Satisfaction from a job well done by one’s hands, sweat and life force as well as integrity in your words.

      1. Yes, he was living at home.

“Before beginning his attack on the store, Mitchell said, Stair sent a text message to his mother at 12:37 a.m “that was basically a suicide note,” but his mother was asleep at the time of the message.”

You are right Katie, there were many indications that he was not right in the head.

#1, yes, my question exactly. The news pretty much plays all the stuff the common man is up to, so too many people think we are enemies of one another, and that we should keep an out for some infraction coming from a common guy, when the real criminals commit crimes daily, but don’t make the stupid box.

Everything is messed up with reality, and many times frustrating to understand it and see through it, yet have too many people living outside of reality. I’ve concluded many don’t want to see as it would rock their comfortable rosy world.

    1. “… many don’t want to see as it would rock their comfortable rosy world.”

Their ‘comfort zones’ trump their common sense, Katie.

The unadulterated truth is a bitter pill to swallow.

      1. “Their ‘comfort zones’ trump their common sense, Katie.”

That’s pretty much it, I reckon.

Yes, that pill is difficult to swallow, but it is doable.

I would not want to live in the deniers skin, must be hell in reality.

        1. “Yes, that pill is difficult to swallow, but it is doable.”

          Never even considered otherwise.
