It’s always entertaining to see a multi-national corporation get pranked, but just what / who are the groups behind this stunt?
A website called savetheartic.org, which is a subsidiary of Greenpeace.
The site wants you to sign a petition for a ‘Global Sanctuary in the Artic’ to protect us from man caused global warming, over fishing and the militarization of the Artic ocean. I assume they want to accomplish all this by putting the United Nations in charge.
A whois lookup shows savetheartic.org website is located in Toronto, Canada and registered through Tucows, Inc.
The site claims a similar sanctuary saved the Antartic; honestly, I don’t know enough about that agreement to comment. Time to do some digging. As with any new agreement regarding the Artic region, the devil is in the details.
Could not one also say the devil is in the Arctic? :p
