Archaeologists uncover proof of how Ancient Egyptians built the Great Pyramid in 2600BC

NEW evidence reveals the Ancient Egyptians constructed the Great Pyramid at Giza by transporting 170,000 tonnes of limestone in boats.

It has long been known that the rock was extracted 13km away in Tura and that granite used in the monumental structure was quarried 858km away in Aswan, reportsThe Sun. However, archaeologists have disagreed over how the material was transported to Giza, now part of modern-day Cairo, for construction of Pharaoh Khufu’s tomb in 2600BC.

Now that mystery could be a step closer to being solved after the discovery of an ancient scroll of papyrus, a ceremonial boat and a network of waterways, reported the Mail on Sunday.

The new evidence shows that thousands of labourers transported 170,000 tonnes of limestone along the River Nile in wooden boats built with planks and rope. The 2.5-tonne blocks were ferried through a system of specially designed canals before arriving at an inland port built just yards away from the base of the Great Pyramid.

The papyrus scroll is the only first-hand record of how the pyramid was built, and was written by an overseer named Merer. He explained in detail how the limestone was moved from the quarry in Tura to Giza using the Bronze Age waterways.

Archaeologist Mark Lehner has also uncovered evidence of a waterway underneath the plateau the pyramid sits on.

He said: “We’ve outlined the central canal basin, which we think was the primary delivery area to the foot of the Giza Plateau.”

The new discoveries are being broadcast in a documentary called Egypt’s Great Pyramid: The New Evidence.

  1. New evidence? Whatever. My grandpa had books i read on all this “new” evidence back in the early 70’s.
Baghdad battery, plane toys, all of it. Not new.

  2. Fine. But what I want to know is how come the Giza pyramid was the only structure to survive Noah’s Flood? And where the “thousands of laborers” actually Nephilim, the “giants” of Genesis 6, the sons of the “sons of God mating with the daughters of men”? Or were humans just a heck of a lot taller and bigger back then? Could be the best “theory” on how this was built is the movie “Land of the Pharaohs” starring Jack Hawkins as Khufu…it is at least as possible as thousands of laborers weighing 200 pounds and 6 feet tall on average. Right. Average men moved 340 million pounds of material over a 40 year period or so, and then put the blocks on “inclined planes” with “pullies” or whatever from boats, that would reach the huge heights of that pyramid. (Note: Noah’s Flood happened around 2350 BC or so. The “fallen angels” mated with females around the period of 2600 BC, “the days of Jared” (according to Ron Skiba anyway). “Jared” means “descend”…what I’m saying is that around this time frame is when human DNA was being corrupted. This could be the only explanation as to why “humans,” not “nephilim,” but “humans” could have built something so huge in such a short period of time.) And how long did Khufu live anyway?
When “scientists” finally admit that the Book of Genesis speaks truth, let me know…
