AZ Family – by 3TV PHOENIX — Thirty-eight inmates in Maricopa County jails have been placed on bread and water diets for defacing American flags, according to a press release from Sheriff Joe Arpaio’s office.
“These inmates have destroyed the American flag that was placed in their cells,” Arpaio said in a statement. “Tearing them, writing on them, stepping on them, throwing them in the toilet, trash or wherever they feel. It’s a disgrace to those who have fought for our country.
“Besides,” he continued, “this is government property that they are destroying, and we will take action against those who act this way.”
Arpaio has placed significant focus on veterans during his tenure, the statement said. Last month, Arpaio announced he would segregate inmate-veterans into their own jail and create new programs to provide them assistance.
Additionally, the national anthem and “God Bless America” are played over the prison P.A. systems each day, according to the statement. Over 600 employees of the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office have served in the military, including 80 detention officers hired in the last year.

How many of those people in Commandant Arpaio’s prison camp had their rights violated in being put there? I’ll tell you how many, every goddamn one of them, because they were put there as property through a merchant court. I would have to agree…it seems to me that the Sheriff wants a little attention…and this is the way to get it… besides, I think Bread & Water is considered an Unconstitutional form of punishment …so Joe is going to having to look for support elsewhere…and really…why would the inmates of a prison work farm, in which half of them probably don’t “Constitutionally” belong there… why should they care about some hypocritical symbol like a flag? Joe just wants him some attention..

I just did some reading on the guy. Yep, I stand corrected. The guy is no real help to the American people. I just don’t like people pissing on my flag. Law or no law it sets me off. Then I go off big with not researching the facts. I used to think he was the real deal, but after reading about him threatening our people down south, well I just posted the article.
Insert foot in mouth, wouldn’t be the first time. Probably won’t be the last either. You have to try and understand, I don’t have the time to read every detail about every person we talk about here on the site. I have to get hammered first.

Aren’t we forgetting a little something here? It is so convenient to focus on one sheriff from one county and call out how bad he is. Makes you feel good doesn’t it? Gets the blood boiling and you release it by writing something about one guy. And then you go back to conforming to all the laws and regulations that have been literally heaped on you over the years by an entire system of corruption. Yes I said an entire system of corruption.
So it is beyond silly to pick on one guy. It is wasteful and pathetic to then go right back to the same crap we go through every day and pretend any art of it is legitimate at all. It is not legitimate, it will not be legitimate until we rid ourselves of tens of thousands of corrupt individuals. And no the cops will not do it. The military will not do it. Spacemen will not do it. Your mother will not come and save you.

Many of the people in jail do not belong there,just live in a control freak country.I would never desecrate the flag because it means to mean freedom and what is good about this country to me,hang it upside down right now,absolutely.That said,would fight for the freedom for those who do desecrate the flag for whatever reason,tis freedom and one of the prices we pay.You desecrate the flag you have lost me on whatever fight you are pushing but will still fight for your right of protest/free speech.
