Chipotle E. Coli Outbreak Closes Dozens Of Stores And It’s Only Getting Worse

The Daily Caller – by Casey Harper

A nasty outbreak of E. Coli has forced Chipotle to close dozens of stores in multiple states.

Chipotle has closed 43 restaurants in Washington and Oregon because of the outbreak since many people affected said they ate at the restaurant before getting sick, Fox News Latino reports. So far, 22 people have been affected, eight of them hospitalized since the outbreak began Oct. 14, but experts expect it may only get worse.

“We actually would expect there might be a jump in cases on Monday,” Marisa D’Angeli, medical epidemiologist at the Washington State Department of Health, told the Associated Press.

In fact, the number affected is likely higher than 22.

“Many people affected with Shiga toxin E. coli may not seek health care, so the number of people made ill by this outbreak is likely more than identified,” the Oregon Health Autority said in a statement. “Health officials want people who have eaten at a Chipotle between October 14 and 23, and become ill with vomiting and bloody diarrhea, to see their health care provider and mention this outbreak.”

The outbreak is contained to four counties on the West Coast, and for now it has not been linked to any other restaurants.

“After being notified by health department officials in the Seattle and Portland areas that they were investigating approximately 20 cases of E. coli, including people who ate at six of our restaurants in those areas, we immediately closed all of our restaurants in the area out of an abundance of caution, even though the vast majority of these restaurants have no reported problems,” Chipotle spokesman Chris Arnold told The Daily Caller News Foundation in a statement. “We are working with health department officials to determine the cause of this issue.”

No one has died in the outbreak so far. Ashley Arellano of Gladstone, Oregon told KGW News she got sick after eating at a Chipotle.

“My body was in aches, and pains. I was nauseous, I couldn’t hold anything down. I couldn’t eat anything,” she said.

  1. Ecoli…. yeah I remember the first big outbreak.
    With Jack in the box.
Anyone remember that one? If you don’t your to young.
Got a double cheeseburger at Jack’s for lunch.
When I went to take a dump that evening.
It was like someone had a bic lighter on my bunghole.
    Unfrickin believable.
I wished I would have saved my receipt so I could have sued them.
    But hey …live and learn.
    Save your receipts chipolte eaters.
You might get free burritos for life in the class action law suit.

  2. I worked at a restaurant that incorporated a Thai kitchen in it a few years ago. Some of these ethnic cultured people that were hired to work it were disgusting, wiped there boogers on the bathroom walls, did not use toilet paper, never mind that some of them had green teeth from not brushing them. Management turned a blind eye because it was more corporate than family run and they just did not care enough.

If I see any restaurant in my area here in Canada hire some of these refugees coming our way, I will refuse to patron them.

  3. This might be an attack on Chipotle because they are making a big deal out of going organic and non GMO. Hard to kill people while serving real food, so not co-operating with UN mandates and codes to kill as many as they can might have gotten them on the radar and the UN had to then issue a stern warning while sending a message that organic and non GMO foods are deadly…

    1. My sentiments exactly Chris! The PTB do NOT want this too catch on. Organic food is not on the agenda of the eugenics movement called MONSANTO…

  4. 1. I thought there was no cure for E. Coli and anyone who had it dies.
    2. I’m thinking Big Pharma needs another outbreak scam to push their vaccine scams again.

Speaking of vaccines, the other day at the work, I had a customer who passed out on the floor and was sweaty and clammy. The person with the patient stated that the person took a flu vaccine the day before at a school that this person had been working at and never experienced these kinds of symptoms before. After the paramedics arrived, the cops and the rest of us were talking about how bad flu vaccines are and how no one should be taking them and that despite some other medical problems the person had, the flu vaccine most likely triggered the person’s illness and current state of being.

DON’T GET FLU VACCINES!! EVER!!! THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS, PEOPLE!!

They will NEVER put a needle in me!!
