His reckless driving left him stranded in the middle of a highway.
As a reminder to the dangers of driving in dangerous weather, the Ohio State Highway Patrol released a dramatic video featuring a crash last month in Cleveland.
After the driver slid into another vehicle he was ejected from the car, and ended up on his hands and knees in the middle of a four-lane highway.
The video was taken on the morning of Jan. 12 as a Cleveland police officer merged onto Interstate 90 during a light snowstorm.

That’s one good argument in favor of seat belts; they keep the driver in control of the vehicle. (or at least they keep him where he can control the vehicle)
Once upon a time, a friend of mine was so drunk that he slammed into a guardrail coming off the highway, and the impact knocked him over toward the passenger seat, with his head under the dash. I had to grab him by the hair and lift his head back up behind the wheel so he could regain control of the vehicle, and that saved us from hitting stuff on the other side of the road. A seat belt would have kept the drunk behind the wheel, where he belongs. No one wore seat belts back then.
