Desperate Medical Industrial Complex Attacks Vitamin And Mineral Supplements

For nearly 100 years now, high-quality vitamin and mineral supplements have made amazing improvements to the quality of people’s lives the world over. This author personally attests to the power of said supplements properly taken over the past 30 years. But the American Medical Association and its various minions see vitamin supplements as direct competition to their regimen of highly toxic drugs that come with an incredible number of side effects and drug interactions that kill thousands of people each year.

It further galls the Industrial Drug Complex that vitamin and mineral supplements are a multi-billion dollar a year industry that they have tried, and failed, many times to get control of. You see, it’s not about your health and well-being, its about what it is always about: the money.

Today, organized medicine has taken their strongest shot to date in an attempt to scare people away from taking supplements. As usual, their opinion is biased, slanted and corrupt and as such is rendered meaningless and worthless. In this article they also attack 2-time Nobel Prize winner Linus Pauling, and dismiss his amazing body of work as “quackery”. Why do they call him a ‘quack’? Because Pauling discovered that the combination of vitamin C and the amino acid Lysine can reverse heart disease for pennies a day with zero side effects.

Shame on you, heartless drug companies who only seek after profit. And double shame on you ignorant doctors who prescribe toxic drugs because you get kick-backs from the pharmaceutical companies.

From The Week: Questions about the health benefits of vitamin supplements have been percolating in the medical establishment for decades — even as the multivitamin industry has grown to a multi-billion powerhouse in the U.S. This week, the respected journal the Annals of Internal Medicine put its well-heeled foot down.

“We believe that the case is closed — supplementing the diet of well-nourished adults with (most) mineral or vitamin supplements has no clear benefit and might even be harmful,” the journal said in an editorial. “These vitamins should not be used for chronic disease prevention. Enough is enough.”

Here’s Dr. Edgar Miller of Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, one of the editorial’s five co-authors: “What will protect you is if you spend the money on fruits, vegetables, nuts, beans, low fat dairy, things like that,” Miller tells CBS News. “Exercising would probably be a better use of the money.” The only exceptions are folic acid for pregnant women and, possibly, vitamin D — the studies are mixed on its benefits and risks.

Assuming Miller and his colleagues are right — and they base their assertion on three large, recent studies — Americans have been wasting lots of money on vitamins. About half of U.S. adults take dietary supplements, and the vitamin industry has grown to $12 billion a year for vitamins alone and about $30 billion for all dietary supplements. That’s just in the U.S.

How did the vitamin industry convince Americans that they need to bulk up on vitamin A, vitamin C, various forms of vitamin B, and other vitamins or multivitamin supplements? “Vitamin manufacturers argue that a regular diet doesn’t contain enough vitamins, and that more is better,” and most people wrongly assume that “at the very least, excess vitamins can’t do any harm,” Paul Offit, an infectious disease specialist at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, said in The New York Times in June.

But much of the blame lies with a flawed genius, Linus Pauling, Offit says. Pauling, the father of molecular biology and near-discoverer of DNA, was “so spectacularly right that he won two Nobel prizes and so spectacularly wrong that he was arguably the world’s greatest quack,” Offit wrote inThe Guardian. Starting in 1966, Pauling started evangelizing about the wonders of vitamin C, making outrageous claims about its salutary effects.

In 1970, Pauling published a bestseller, Vitamin C And The Common Cold, arguing that 3,000 mg of the vitamin each day would eradicate the cold. He went on to insist that a multitude of vitamins, including A, E, and beta-carotine could treat or cure a whole host of maladies, from cancer to AIDS. Study after study after study proved him wrong.

Pauling really believed his claims, but the vitamin industry had more cynical motives: Money, asOffit recounted in The New York Times. The Food and Drug Administration proposed regulating vitamin supplements containing more than 150 percent of the recommended daily allowance in December 1972, meaning “vitamin makers would now have to prove that these ‘megavitamins’ were safe before selling them,” Offit continues:

Not surprisingly, the vitamin industry saw this as a threat, and set out to destroy the bill. In the end, it did far more than that. Industry executives recruited William Proxmire, a Democratic senator from Wisconsin, to introduce a bill preventing the FDA. from regulating megavitamins…. Proxmire’s bill passed by a vote of 81 to 10. In 1976, it became law. Decades later, Peter Barton Hutt, chief counsel to the FDA, wrote that “it was the most humiliating defeat” in the agency’s history. [New York Times]

So, thanks to Linus Pauling, money, and politics, Offit concludes, “consumers don’t know that taking megavitamins could increase their risk of cancer and heart disease and shorten their lives.”

But surely consumers play some role in the rise of the vitamin industrial complex. Research about the ineffectiveness of vitamins, or worse, has been around since the 1940s, after all. “People over time and particularly people in the United States have been led to believe that vitamin and mineral supplements will make them healthier, and they’re looking for a magic pill,” Dr. Cynthia Mulrow, another of the Annals of Internal Medicine editorialists, tells Reuters.

And the “magic pill” habit may be hard to break, scathing editorial or no. For what it’s worth, here’s the pushback from the supplement trade group the Council for Responsible Nutrition:

The Annals of Internal Medicine editorial “demonstrates a close-minded, one-sided approach that attempts to dismiss even the proven benefits of vitamins and minerals,” says the group’s CEO, Steve Mister. “It’s a shame for consumers that the authors refuse to recognize the real-life need for vitamin and mineral supplementation, living in a fairy-tale world that makes the inaccurate assumption that we’re all eating healthy diets and getting everything we need from food alone.”

At the end of this CBS News report, the featured inveterate vitamin-taker buys the industry’s argument and declares that, despite the evidence and her healthy diet, she will continue taking vitamins. She almost certainly isn’t alone. source – The Week

  1. Just as #1 NWOHater always says,

Only the sorry ass sheeple believe this BS. I for one can say these vitamin and alternative cures work. So far so good with me, they wanted me on chemo, I told them to shove it. I’ve been taking this stuff instead and was back to work in only ten weeks after major cancer surgery with a big smile on my face.

I will be enjoying Christmas this year, thanks to these other cures. Again, the friends on this site have steered me to the right formulas and have basically saved my life. Not one dime has been spent in a doctors office since the surgery. Haven’t even seen a doctor, the hell with that…..

Time will tell, so far so good……..

      1. Collidal silver daily, Methyl-Sulfonyl-Methane (MSM), large doses of 50-plus vitamines, and chew and apricot kernals all day, and a product called “Greens” organic.

Thats it… It’s all about flushing out the system. I’m going to start on a supplement to flush out the radiation A.S.A.P

        1. hey mark how much silver, how much msm, what kind of vitamins, apricot kernals, and greens organic did you consume a day?

          1. Centrum for men 3 pills a day

800 milligrams of MSM a day

2 scoops of greens a day (scoop is the scoop that comes in the bottle)

2 shots a day of silver

About 20 to 25 kernals a day of apricots

          2. I have some greens 8 In 1 by olympian labs. would that be the greens you take? what do you mean by shots of silver? swigs?

          3. Yeah swigs,

I use the greens from “Barleans organic oils”(organic inulin powder, probiotic blend; gluten free and GMO free).

          1. 8,000

oops. Forgot to add a zero.

Basically a big nasty tasty tablespoon full every day washed down with juice, whatever the hell that is. I use the powder form now, so it’s hard to judge. I used to take eight pills a day. Now it’s just the powder.

What is the name of that radiation flush again #1?

          2. thanks #1 and Mark for that correction. I added that to the copied explanation.

            God bless you both.

          3. I suspected as much. lol

Alpha lipoic acid. I take 1 600 mg tablet a day (the highest mgs. they come in at GNC)

btw, I’ve had a very nasty cold since Tuesday of last week. It felt like it was going to hang around for at least another week. Two nights ago, I bought some colloidal silver, since I’ve seen so many posters here comment on its benefits.

The cold is almost gone now. I’m impressed. I think I’ll keep on taking it. 🙂

          4. Hey #1, ever get these side effects of alpha lipoic acid?

Headache, tingling or a “pins and needles” sensation, skin rash, or muscle cramps.

            Just curious.

          5. No, NC, although lately I have had some off and on tingling, I don’t think it’s related to the ala, since this is fairly recent, and I’ve been taking it for a year and a half now.

          6. Yea I just read the side effects to it and was curious if it was true or not as I’m becoming interested in taking it myself. Thanks.

          7. Sorry, NC That should have 2 1/2 years I’ve been taking the ala, since about 3 months after Fukushima.

Sometimes I get lost in this strange fog, and I can’t keep track of time.

This particular fog goes by the name Mango Crack.

            Bein’ bad again. 🙂

  2. Listen very closely to yourself and you can heal yourself. We do not need the Dr.s one bit imoho. I believe that I am also proof of that. 🙂

    1. Hey Digger. i would love t hear your protocol too please. As you well know i am into this knowledge for helping people here.

      1. The brain already suppies every chemical that it needs to heal itself – or to get high for that matter 😆 – it just needs to be in balance and it will heal itself naturally. I never get sick, ever 🙂 or I actually should say that I do not remember the last time that I missed a day of work because I was sick – it has been many years.

          1. Listen very close to what your body is telling itself. You will know when something is wrong if you pay attention. If somethig is wrong then work with it. Your body will not lie to you unless you teach your body to lie to itself. Listen to youself and you can heal yourself. It is so simple that it is complicated. 😎

  3. Has anyone ever tried the hemp powder that I hear advertised? Tasteless, odorless, cleanses your system. It sounds interesting, and hemp is suppose to have some wonderful properties.

I would love to try it. Any testimonials?

    1. Hey Deb i consume hemp seed kernels for inflammation, they seem to help my o.a. symptoms. not sure what else they help.

          1. my pleasure Deb. knowledge is power. I don’t have a whole lot but want to help people when i can, as i have been helped by several people on this site, and around the world. i have an insatiable appetite for knowledge in the health area. my brain doesn’t accommodate a lot of info at the same time any more, so it takes a lot more to absorb it at this point in life. I also don’t trust doctors, and stay away from them as much as possible. years ago an old friend of mine told me “the best way to stay healthy is to grow your own tobacco, and stay from the damn doctors”. (cleaned that up a little bit). I took his advice to heart, and have been collecting natural health info ever since. Only problem is, the more i learn, the dummer i realize i am. 🙂

  4. “You see, it’s not about your health and well-being, its about what it is always about: the money.”

    BINGO!!!

Big Pharma and the so-called ‘medical’ establishment are designed to do two things, and two things only: drain the patients of their bank accounts, and their lives.

I’m healthier now than I’ve ever been in my life, and I can guarantee it is due to the health products I take (and the grace of God).

      1. The same thing Mark is, except that I get my multi-vitamins from the same company I get my MSM from, and I’ve been taking alpha lipoic acid since not long after Fukushima was unleashed on us.

        1. Dammit, every time you guys shorten Methyl-Sulfonyl-Methane to MSM, I think you are taking Mainstream Media vitamins or something. Haha!

I get it though. Just awkward how it has to be the same acronym.

      2. Also a coral calcium and magnesium combination. Two of the most essential minerals we need. Together, they will flush the aluminum from the damn chemtrails from your system.

  5. Paid off doctors claim vitamins are worthless….”now take 2 Ridelin tablets twice per day after meals….that will be $300 for your prescription…thank you ….see you and little Johnny next month”.

  6. There is a theory I found in older nutrition books that coincides with the most helpful (and hence suppressed) cancer protocol (JohnBeard-DonaldKelly-NicholasGonzales): Take digestive enzymes with every meal. If you eat “dead”/cooked food, then your body has to make digestive enzymes to process that food. If you eat fresh, raw food (fruits, veggies, org/wholesome eggs, raw dairy), the food enzymes present in the food digest the food for you — no need for your pancreas to make digestive enzymes. That frees your body to spend its resources making metabolic enzymes, which are what help run your body and repair damaged tissue. Note that vitamins/minerals don’t work without enzymes!

Cancer is said to be a problem with protein metabolism. The “trophoblast theory of cancer” put forth with convincing evidence by embryologist John Beard, has been around for over 100 years. Cancer is a normal bodily process — an attempt to repair damaged tissues run amok; the trophoblast is germ cells continuing to grow after the tissue was repaired. (If fact, Beard invented germ cells – he called them ‘wayward trophoblast cells.’) Protein enzymes (protease includes chemsyn, trypsin, and more) are needed to digest the trophoblast before it grows out of control. (This is all part of embryonic development; the trophoblast is converted to a placenta during day 56 of human development, the very day that the fetal pancreas starts making pancreatic enzymes!) If the pancreas, for various reasons, cannot make enough digestive enzymes, the tumor grows and eventually spreads to other organs. Not all cancers work like this, but most do. Some are blood/lymphatic cancers, but taking digestive enzymes still works, according to Nicholas Gonzales, an MD in NYC who uses this method to treat cancer. The whole protocol is 1) improve nutrition (which is different for different people, but everyone needs good quality, whole foods); 2) take digestive enzymes; 3) detox the body (the cancer dies and can poison you on the way out – need lots of liver/gall bladder flushes, coffee enemas, etc., if you have cancer). You can just take a lot of digestive enzymes (must be porcine pancreatin, not vegetarian) with every meal (3,000mg) and see if you get the detox reaction (‘healing crisis’); that means that you’ve got some bad stuff going on and it would be good to change your diet plus detox. Regular maintenance would be 1000mg of pancreatin per meal. (B17 I believe includes pancreatic enzymes, which is why it helps kill cancer. I don’t know but I’d guess that the amygdalin in apricot seeds does the same. Kelly ate a lot of RAW almonds, for the same benefit, and they are cheaper and taste better than apricot kernals.)

Similarly, diabetes is a problem of carbohydrate metabolism. Heart disease a problem of fat metabolism. Eating raw foods cures everything, but most people need also to take digestive enzymes because most people won’t give up cooked food. This fellow named Edward Howell spelled it out in his book, “Enzyme Nutrition,” an abridged version of a much longer book that was his life’s work. It is hard to get raw dairy anymore in the US. Seems like anything that is good for us, like supplements, gets outlawed. And you know what? GMO foods and fluoride, are enzyme inhibitors! Guaranteed to wreck your health.

Another great book is by Sally Fallon, “Nourishing Traditions.” Fallon writes about the foods our ancestors ate and why it was good for us. Yummy recipes. Lots of fermented foods, raw dairy, cured meats, sprouted grains, etc. These foods either still contain the valuable food enzymes (that do the work of digesting for us) or they are already partially digested by the action of fermenting/sprouting. So I guess beer and wine are good for us, so is real olive oil and lots of other fats.

We can take care of ourselves better than any doctor.

    Keep up the good fight,
    Dot

    p.s. Here’s a good place to start:

    http://truthbreakdown.wordpress.com/2012/05/01/dr-william-d-kelley-the-gretzky-of-alternative-cancer/

I’ve seen Gonzalez’s 2005 lecture on dvd, too, and it’s very good ($18 on Amazon). If you go to his website, there are a lot of (free) interviews (dr-gonzalez.com).

Here’s a good encapsulation of John Beard’s trophoblast theory:
    http://www.whale.to/v/duffy2.html

Here’s some interesting material here, too, particularly Kelley’s 1971 lecture:

    http://www.whale.to/cancer/kelley.html

I got, from his interview, the idea of taking a high dose of pancreatic enzymes for a couple weeks to provoke a detox reaction; no reaction, no cancer. The info about why the pancreas fails – 5 reasons — is fascinating. Also, how to get healthy is covered, step by alimentary step.
