Expert Testifies to Congress that Obama’s ‘Ignoring Laws’ Could Lead to Overthrow of Government

During a congressional committee hearing about the constitutional limits imposed on the presidency and the implications of President Barack Obama’s disregard for implementing the Affordable Care Act as written, one expert testified that the consequences of the president’s behavior were potentially grave. He said that the precedent set by Obama could eventually lead to an armed revolt against the federal government.

On Tuesday, Michael Cannon, Cato Institute’s Director of Health Policy Studies, testified before a congressional committee about the dangers of the president’s legal behavior.

“There is one last thing to which the people can resort if the government does not respect the restrains that the constitution places on the government,” Cannon said. “Abraham Lincoln talked about our right to alter our government or our revolutionary right to overthrow it.”

“That is certainly something that no one wants to contemplate,” he continued. “If the people come to believe that the government is no longer constrained by the laws then they will conclude that neither are they.”

“That is a very dangerous sort of thing for the president to do, to wantonly ignore the laws,” Cannon concluded, “to try to impose obligation upon people that the legislature did not approve.”

    1. Uncle Ted Nugent? The elitist cop that goes on raids with his cop buddies? The elitist that goes hunting on his own property at will, owns machine guns but doesn’t think you should, and spits on his audience because in reality he detests the people who made him rich?
I wouldn’t bring up that piece of shit in a favorable light on this site again if I were you.

      1. You forgot to mention that ted nugent got out of the military because when he went to enlist he didn`t shower or clean himself up for over a month and he didn`t even wipe his ass when he took a dump. I heard that he got a medical/mental excuse for not joining up in the military. Yea Henry that nugent really is a POS.

  1. And what has Government ever done but create war and tax you to death?Private enterprise could not possibly produce the misery of the tax induced warmongering state.Private security is surely better for if they suck they will be replaced on contract.Overthrow of government would be a blessing for it may return hard money, free trade, free markets and freedom from regulation, war and fake money produced by the central banks and let them learn to dig ditches or let them die.Sorrry to ramble but i’m not an author.I am,however,a pretty decent ditch digger and a better economist than paul krugman. And a better person than Pelosi,Feinstein orClinton.I don’t want to be your leader but I don’t want them to be mine or tax me for the unsolicited privilege.

    1. No Carl, private security is not better, as they are under no fiducial restraint. They operate under corporate law and do not recognize our Constitution. It is the privatizing of the elected fiduciary responsibility that has allowed the international corporate mafia to take over our country.

  2. Ya know…..if these idiots really need an “expert” to tell them what has been staring them in the face….IDIOTS

  3. “On Tuesday, Michael Cannon, Cato Institute’s Director of Health Policy Studies, testified before a congressional committee about the dangers of the president’s legal behavior.”

Thinking Cannon must have been misquoted (legal behavior?).
    “”Illegal behavior””
He should have said “Unconstitutional & corrupt behavior”
