LITTLETON, Colo. — A Denver Police dispatcher confirmed earlier scanner traffic reports, saying a law enforcement agent has been shot and that multiple law enforcement agencies were responding to the scene near downtown Littleton.
FOX31 Denver’s Deborah Takahara was able to confirm through a source that it was an FBI agent who was shot at the Essex House Motel while executing a fugitive warrant.
A source also said the agent was shot in the calf and was OK. He was receiving treatment at Swedish Medical Center in Englewood.
There was a multiple-agency police presence surrounding the Essex House Motel at 5390 S Santa Fe Dr., which is just off South Santa Fe Drive between West Bowles and West Belleview avenues.
A source said the suspect was still barricaded inside the Essex House as of 5:45 p.m. and he was wanted for bank robbery.
An eyewitness, who identified himself as Craig, called into FOX31 Denver’s ongoing 5 PM broadcast with a report.
“I noticed there was a SWAT team at the Essex House screaming at a shut door,” Craig said. “After a time, I heard them yell, ‘Shots fired!’ And I looked over to see one individual in plain clothes limping away from the door. Officers then came in and evacuated the area.”
Craig also indicated that he believed the injured party was a plain-clothes federal agent.
A Littleton police spokesman said no shots were fired by any law enforcement officers, just the suspect.
In addition to Denver Police, Greenwood Village Police and several SWAT teams appeared to be assisting in the area.

The police these days are such pussies. They beat up, shoot and kill unarmed people, but when the people are armed, they run to SWAT like little children crying to mommy in order to deal with it. So pathetic. And they call themselves cops. What do they even train in the police academy these days? They must teach them to shoot an unarmed person but to run away from an armed person. I see how it is.
Shot in the calf? That’s a bit too far from the head for my tastes. It must have been a misfire, or accidental discharge. Even I can shoot better than that.
