In my knowledge book from Marine Corp bootcamp the kill radius of a grenade was 5 meters. Those guys might have looked okay for a minute or two but then internal injuries probably killed them. Whoever gave those dopes grenades (probably the guy with the camera) should be held for murder.

That was not a Frag-Grenade,.. which would have killed the forward guy no problem. (Your right,.. an M-67 Frag has a 5 meter kill radius,… and a 15 meter casualty radius if I remember right.)
It was most likely a Percussion-Grenade, given the fact that neither of the guys seemed really hurt,… dazed,… but not really hurt (if it had been a Frag,… they would have been pretty torn-up at the least),.. nor did the boat seemed damaged, which I would expect to see at least some level of damage shredding the gunnal.
What I’m not to clear on, is why it a Smoke-Grenade primer.
Frag and Percussion Grenades have the same 4-6 second fuse time once the spoon is popped. Smoke usually has a one second delay, which is what this grenade had,.. but then again,.. clearly these guys were Russian, as was the announcer, so they were most probably using Russian stuff which I’m not familiar with.

But, yeah if your going to hold and pull the pin on such a device like the brave in the video, I guess you should be willing to lose your arm along with it.

As below the jet so above, I been shocked by what I see on aircraft before, in fact, one day the entire electric shop, the msgts, lt’s everyone got a nice shock off this simpson meter hanging from a jet one day. LOL
Funny in sick kind of way. I seen very unfortunate but weird (why don’t they just run?) things happen with families from time to time (ya know WRONG when ye see it, but I back packed with WRONG before)

JD, when I was in the army they told us about Russian grenades being dangerous to use. The fuse on their grenades were, they said, could be anywhere from 0-6 seconds. I’m not sure if that was true or not as we never got the chance to use them but they told us to only use them for booby traps if we found them. It was said that there could be one in every box that could have a short fuse. looks like these guys found that out.
