Zero Hedge – by Tyler Durden

Amid all the global geopolitical tensions – which the stock market apparently believes are all fixed now – news that the motorcade of a Saudi prince was attacked in Paris by Kalashnikov-wielding gunmentakes on more relevance than it normally would. The attackers stole 250,000 Euros in cash and more crucially – “sensitive documents.” No suspects have been apprehended and to make matters more complex, local police noted “It’s quite an unusual attack. They were obviously well-informed. It’s true that it’s quite a rare way of operating.”

Kalashnikov-wielding robbers attacked the motorcade of a Saudi prince in Paris, making off with 250,000 euros in cash and reportedly stealing “sensitive” documents, French police said on Monday. And as RFI reports,

Those attacked told police a group of eight people stopped the car as it was driving on the Paris city ring road at around 9.30 on Sunday evening.

Some reports say the attackers were armed with Kalashnikovs, though no one was injured in the attack, which took place around the Porte de la Chapelle area, in northern Paris.

The motorcade was making its way from the Saudi embassy to an airport in Le Bourget, where a private jet was waiting.

The thieves drove off in the last car of the motorcade, taking with them the chauffeur, an assistant and a bodyguard.

They were released nearby. The motorcade monospace, as well as another car used by the robbers, were found burnt out on the outskirts of Paris.

No suspects have yet been apprehended.

“It’s quite an unusual attack. They were obviously well-informed. It’s true that it’s quite a rare way of operating,” said a police source.

Investigators are trying to find out whether the attackers were interested in the money or the documents they stole, which the French newspaper Le Parisien describes as “sensitive”.

One can only conjecture as the contents of the ‘sensitive documents’ as it seems an extremely well-planned raid to merely grab $350,000… especially now that Qatar has started shifting its stance.

  1. wait a minute…… if im not mistaken it is illegal to have a gun in Paris… how did these guys get them if no one in Paris can own one? wouldn’t that suggest that the bad guys will still have them even if they are banned? wouldn’t that suggest that gun control only disarms the law abiding?

proof that a country can ban them and confiscate them but the criminal will still get them..
