Interesting to consider, Hal. Brought up some questions. Are we “identical” in essence? I do not know. Could such a belief cancel out the sacredness of the individual? Again, I do not know.
But I see what he means by everything we do effects what the world is doing. Butterfly effect? And here is another thing I never thought of:
“The external world is your own body extended.” Could be, who knows?
Now Hal, didn’t I see you in Haight Asbury, back in the day? I think you had a big grin and your eyes seemed to know everything. Funny how life gets in the way of that knowing. (another big grin)
I will now re-listen to Mr. Watts as he attempts to take me out there, which sometimes appears to be a relief and other times too big and scary. Does infinity have a Bill of Rights? If so, it may not be very different than our very own earthly version.
Thanks for the journey. No matter how far I went, I’m still here.
The video caused me to think of folks who seem will never have a clue.
Myself, I’m not a mystical type of dude 🙂
Philosophy just doesn’t give me goosebumps.
Floyd Cramer(y) sounding chimey guitar playing do though.
So, you throw something mystical up there and I take the bait, revealing myself to be mystical to the core. I don’t think anything isn’t. I better take a moment to look up the word ‘mystical,’ just to be sure.
Mystical, adjective: of or relating to mystics or spiritual mysticism; transcending human understanding;of hidden or esoteric meaning; inspiring a sense of spiritual mystery, awe, and fascination; concerned with the soul or the spirit, rather than with material things.
No no no, and no offense intended.
Although I agree with Mr. Watts to a degree, and appreciate his thoughts, my philosophy is much simpler…
‘The picture on the dog food bag isn’t for the dog.’
I used to listen to Watts long ago, and I found spirit in this vid.
The word mystical is not unlike the word religion to me.
But I’m just a sixth grade educated fool.
In other words, their system never completely broke my spirit 🙂

Yeah, I dabble there. It helps me here.

Ha! I doubt there’s anything in existence that could break your spirit.
Hey, no offense at all. I was just jokin’ with ya, Hal. And no matter how many bulls you attend to, you’re still kinda mystical to me.
