Covington VA –-(Ammoland.com)- The Maine Governor has signed a Constitutional Carry bill into law, meaning Virginians won’t need a Maine permit to carry concealed when visiting Maine!

I have looked at the wording of the new law and, contrary to the article below, it DOES appear to apply to non-residents.

IMPORTANT NOTE: As I understand it, the new law won’t become effective until sometime in October 2015, so DO NOT carry concealed in Maine for the time being. Once a firm effective date is set, I’ll let everyone know.

Virginia Citizens Defense League has supported Constitutional Carry here in Virginia for years. We plan to make it a top priority in 2016, with a bill already lined up to do so.

Here is a link to an article on the law – ignore the mention of only applying to residents: http://tiny.cc/rcoe0x

Congratulations to the gun-rights groups in Maine for a great victory!
