SAN DIEGO (CNS) – A man surrendered peacefully Sunday evening after a six-hour standoff with authorities at the gated FBI office in Sorrento Valley.
An FBI spokesman identified the man as William Durant, 36, of Lakeside and said he faces several charges including trespassing.
The standoff began at 11:41 a.m. at the office, at 10300 Vista Sorrento Parkway, and ended shortly before 6 p.m., according to San Diego police, who were assisting the FBI. The suspect was considered armed and dangerous, though no weapon was seen.
The suspect contacted or was contacted by local news agencies, it was reported.
He told NBC7 that he went to the building to speak with an agent and that he feared for his life, the television station reported.
He also called CBS8 asking to talk to an agent, a CBS8 anchor reported.
The suspect’s motive was unknown, police said.
FBI agents said they were handling the active incident with the help of San Diego police.
The incident began at 11:41 a.m., and there was a traffic crash reported on the adjacent 805 Freeway at the same time. But there was no link between the incidents reported by the FBI or police.
By 1 p.m., the crash had been cleared.

so I wonder if the FBI got to lie to him ?
whats the story?
“He told NBC7 that he went to the building to speak with an agent and that he feared for his life, the television station reported.”
Evidently, he went there to confess to something or rat someone out. However, he may have ran into the person he was ratting out and that person may have said to him, “You walk out of here and you’re a dead man”. So fearing for his life, he made his case known to the media by making a scene to garner attention. He then probably asked for police protection. Not that police protection would be any better or anything. That’s just my take on it all.
