Wait until something really serious happens. These sheep will turn on each other in minutes. BE ready NOW, don’t keep putting your preps off. Something serious IS going to happen, and each day it is one day closer.
Alright, I give the shoppers credit for preparing, perhaps a bit late, nonetheless, they did take action.
Melissa is from cold weather country, so as she said, she’s seen much worse and found it amusing that folks were freaking out over a possible 1/10″ of ice.
In many parts of Texas this weather is not a usual winter occurrence, so yes, people do get concerned, and rightly so. They are not experienced road ice drivers, and dealing with sub freezing temps. is a rare winter occurrence. Also, the houses are not necessarily hardened for these temps..
I get the watching news and being motivated out of fear and propaganda is not the best thing, but ridiculing folks for stocking up on stuff is not necessary, imo. I also get the wonderment at what would these people do if there was a truly serious situation scenario, but still, I’m glad to see that they actually took action in a much milder situation.
Tuesday of this week, my niece and her friend were traveling I-35 Austin to San Antonio, they HAD to be there, and they were slipping along with other drivers, eventually into the median, only scrapping paint on their car. So yeah, when one is not familiar with sliding around on ice to get somewhere it’s a bit freaky.
Anyway, from what I’ve heard the planet is experiencing a mini ice age and will be for several yrs., so the south should prepare for more severe winters. I also am aware of weather mod. too, which plays a role in this phenomenon.

agree Katie…..something like this may get folks to think a little more about preparedness
