Examiner – by Renee NalThe founder and president of Shield Tactical, John W. Harrington, made the trek from Shiner, Texas to Tombstone, Ariz., in the effort to ultimately free Marine reservist Sgt. Andrew Tahmooressi, who served two combat tours in Afghanistan and has been held in a Mexican prison since the beginning of April on weapons smuggling charges.
Pete Santilli of the Guerilla Media Network (GMN) caught up with Harrington on the road. In a video posted at GMN’s YouTube page, Harrington confirmed that he was on his way to meet with the group “Riders USA.” The group “2 Million Bikers to DC” has also been supporting the effort, posting updates at their Facebook page.
In the video, Harrington questions the wisdom charging the imprisoned Marine with smuggling. “He had [three] guns that were registered to him,” he said, also pointing out that “armed Mexican military crosses the U.S. border daily – oftentimes by accident. We turn them around and let them go home,” he explained.
Sgt. Andrew Tahmooressi missed an exit, forcing him into the San Ysidro border crossing, described as “the busiest border crossing in the world” at Fox News Latino. One commuter was quoted in the article as saying “…once you pass the last U.S. exit, if you’re in the right lane, there is no way to get over to the far left lane to make a U-turn back to the U.S.,” he said. “You have to go through to the border.”
According to Tahmooressi’s mother Jill, the young Marine had all of his worldly possessions in his vehicle, including his legally-owned firearms. A month after Tahmooressi’s arrest, “a huge lighted sign [for the U-turn lane back to the U.S.] was added to make it more visible.”
Mexico has particularly harsh gun laws, as described at the website of the Consulate General of the United States in Tijuana. Despite this, their “gun homicide” rate is almost triple that of the United States. According to Mexico’s central statistics bureau (INEGI) for 2012, 98 percent of all murders go unsolved.
In a concerning development that suggests a political agenda, Fox News reported this week that “Mexican officials apparently are floating the possibility that jailed Marine Andrew Tahmooressi could avoid a lengthy prison term, if — and only if — he blames the entire episode on post-traumatic stress disorder [PTSD].”

Probably took the best ‘minds’ in the country to come up with that.
I will never be able to forgive Mexico for how they did our Marine!! I will never again see Mexico in the same light! Mexico is without excuse! This Marine made such an innocent mistake that anyone could have made and the Mexican government has shown no mercy! I will remember!
