Police detained a cat after it was caught red-handed smuggling drugs into prison, according to a statement released by police in Moldova.
Prison officials said that they have caught a cat smuggling cannabis to inmates on Friday.
“We found that a gray and white cat had two drug packages tied to its neck, inside a large purple collar,” a police spokesperson said.
Guards sniffed out the illegal goods after they realized that the cat seemed to be going in and out of prison through a hole in the fence.
A video of the cat being captured and her necklace being removed was released by the Moldovan Ministry of Justice.
The prison is located near the city of Pruncul. A resident of Pruncul is believed to have been sending the packages in jail.
