Sitting at a Bakersfield, CA Dennys last night, drinking a freshly served water that tasted like freshly served vomit got me thinking, only a matter of time before they are going to start charging for a natural resource restaurants have been giving us for free, seemingly forever, a glass of cold clean water.
I say his knowing that they probably already are, just hiding it in the food cost. After all, they have to serve it with ice, ice machines cost money and the servers re – pour at our whim.
Like all of you, I wonder what has taken them so long? Hell, they have marked everything else up to an insane amount, why not the served water? My guess is, they probably already are, just hiding it.
Let’s face it, the first thing the server asks you is, what can I get you to drink? That question is a money maker, we know damn well they’re not going to just give you something for free.
Soon though, they are going to give us the double whammy, the double charge for the water, the big ugly.
McDonald’s already charges water.
Hell I can’t afford to go to a damn restaurant. If they tried to charge me for water, I’d throw it at em.
I was just at a bar in Baltimore that charged us $2 for ice in our drinks.
