PORTLAND, Ore. – The three suspects in the shooting outside a North Portland alternative high school earlier this month were charged with attempted murder on Tuesday, police said.

The Friday, Dec. 12 shooting at Rosemary Anderson High School injured four students. All four victims survived the shooting.

Police later arrested 16-year-old Marquise D’Angelo Murphy, 18-year-old Marquel Diamond Dugas and 22-year-old Lonzo Murphy.

In addition to the attempted murder charges, detectives charged them with other crimes, including unlawful use of a weapon and assault.

Police said the shooting was likely gang-related and may have come after a dispute.

Officials said Taylor Zimmers, 16, was critically wounded when taken to the hospital. Zimmers and two other victims, 20-year-old David Jackson-Liday and 17-year-old Labraye Franklin, were treated and are now back at home. A fourth student, Olyvia Lynn Batson, 17, suffered a “grazing wound” to her foot and was treated at the scene.

The suspects will be arraigned in Multnomah County court Tuesday.

  1. The suspects were 16 & 18 years old, and the shooting possibly began over a “dispute”, but KATU news doesn’t tell us if they were wetbacks who enrolled in the school just to get closer to a fresh crop of victims.
