Children at Park Elementary School went home with a letter today explaining there was a disruption in school. Seven year old Josh Welch, and his father, say the disruption lead to a two day suspension for the second grader in Brooklyn Park.
Academics are hard for Josh, who suffers from ADHD, but he excels in art class. It is Josh’s own creativity that may have gotten him into trouble.
At Park Elementary school, Josh was enjoying his breakfast pastry when he decided to try and shape it into a mountain.
Josh said, “It was already a rectangle and I just kept on biting it and biting it and tore off the top and it kinda looked like a gun but it wasn’t.”
Josh takes full responsibly for trying to shape his breakfast pastry, but admits it was in innocent fun. He told FOX45, “All I was trying to do was turn it into a mountain but, it didn’t look like a mountain really and it turned out to be a gun kinda.”
When his teacher saw the strawberry tart he knew he was in trouble, he recalls, “She was pretty mad…and I think I was in big trouble.” Josh’s dad received a phone call from the school saying that Josh has been suspended for two days because he took his breakfast pastry and fashioned it into a gun.
Josh’s dad was astounded to learn the school chose such a harsh punishment, even after no one was hurt.
Late Friday afternoon a letter went home with students explaining the incident saying, “A student used food to make an inappropriate gesture.”
But Josh’s dad is not happy saying, “I would almost call it insanity. I mean with all the potential issues that could be dealt with at school, real threats, bullies, whatever the real issue is, it’s a pastry.., Ya know?”
Josh just wishes he could go back to class, but maintains a good sense of humor through the whole debacle saying, “I didn’t get to eat all my breakfast, so, really I am still hungry.”

A good definition of insanity! Teachers like this should be fired immediately for incompetence and lack of common sense. Any school board member who condones this asinine abuse of teaching should be thrown out of their position in the next school board election.
A good thing these cretins stopped the little fellow. If he had tried to eat the pastry, it may have had Freudian implications indicating a cry for help in a suicide attempt. If the pastry had chocolate on it, this would indicate a severe pathology requiring extensive therapy and medication…..NOT.
Did he kill anybody with his pastry? This stuff is getting so ridiculous.
All of this foolish restriction is going to provoke a lot of pointless, untargeted rebellion, when these children get older.
Perhaps someone will organize a day where children nationwide will bring toy guns to school, draw pictures of guns, make finger guns, gun pastries, etc. and hope the entire national school system grinds to a halt. The ‘Imposter in Chief’ will get on national television flanked by Bloomberg and Schwartz (Soros)……….
Aside from reading and math schools don’t teach anything of value these days. I think more kids should draw pictures of guns, make gun pastries, and bring toy guns to school so they can get expelled and go home and learn something real on the internet. What would they do if every kid in the school, or even just a classroom, drew a gun? Would they expel the whole class, the whole school? The only way to end this insanity is thru overkill.
Don’t the kid’s parents recognize the insanity here? Did anyone bother to tell the principal that he’s out of his mind?
I think it strange that this happens all the time and no one seems to object. If this were my kid I think I’d spend about an hour telling this teacher what an idiot she is.
Brainwashing is the obvious motive here. Teachers are as detrimental to our way of life as cops are these days.
This is just another component of the master plan. Criminalize adults who legally own firearms, and criminalize kids who draw guns or shape pastries into the shape of a gun. I wouldn’t be surprised to see records like this incident used to stop individuals when they are adults from purchasing a gun. Aside from that, it’s like you said, so beyond ridiculous that one can only say “You people are idiots!”
Of course though it is ok for kids now days to play violent video games.
Ban all pastries!!!!!!
The kid can’t do this but in just a couple years there will be military recruits at his school wanting to train him in the actual use of guns!
Can this teacher say: “IRONY”!
“But Josh’s dad is not happy saying, “I would almost call it insanity. I mean with all the potential issues that could be dealt with at school, real threats, bullies, whatever the real issue is, it’s a pastry.., Ya know?”
ALMOST???
Let’s call a spade a spade here.
If this DOESN’T qualify as insanity, I don’t know what the hell DOES!!!
INSANITY ABOUNDS!!!
