President Barack Obama provoked fury in the U.S. on Thursday by casually devoting less than a minute to the deaths of 295 people aboard a Malaysian airliner, as he began an often jokey 16-minute speech about the need to expand America’s transportation infrastructure.

There are no confirmed American dead and the White House issued a statement on Thursday evening which said they were still seeking any ‘information to determine whether there were any American citizens on board’.

A delegation of six California lawmakers departed for Central America on Monday for a nine-day trip to discuss the immigration crisis with Central American leaders.

The delegation will visit El Salvador, Guatemala, and Panama, according to Fresno’s ABC 30. The group includes Senate President Darrell Steinberg, Assemblymember Henry T. MCALLEN, Texas–A federal judge denied bond for a husband and wife accused of kidnapping an illegal immigrant from Honduras and threatening her family with decapitating her or selling her off to a brothel if they didn’t pay a ransom.

MCALLEN, Texas–A federal judge sentenced a Texas sheriff to five years in prison for taking money from a South Texas drug lord linked to Mexican cartels.

On Thursday morning, U.S. District Judge Micaela Alvarez delivered harsh words to former Hidalgo County Sheriff Lupe Treviño during his sentencing hearing. HOUSTON — Hundreds of birds were poisoned and killed at Bush Intercontinental Airport this past weekend as part of a “bird abatement project” that animal rights groups call cruel and inhumane.

Just after daybreak on Saturday and Sunday, the I-Team captured on video something strange happening—birds dropping mysteriously from the sky in distress.

Reno, Nevada ( CNN ) – Clark County Sheriff Doug Gillespie says his department will no longer hold illegal immigrants unless the federal government has a warrant. The department says the policy change is because of recent court decisions which have questioned the hold process by the Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

By some estimates, there are thousands of undocumented immigrants living in the Las Vegas valley. WASHINGTON (AP) — The same federal scientist who recently found forgotten samples of smallpox at a federal lab also uncovered over 300 additional vials, many bearing the names of highly contagious viruses and bacteria.

Food and Drug Administration officials said Wednesday the undocumented collection contained 327 carefully packaged vials, listing pathogens like dengue, influenza and rickettsia. The energy-rich country on the eastern tip of the Arabian Peninsula announced plans Wednesday to send the first unmanned Arab spaceship to Mars in 2021.

McALLEN, Texas—Federal authorities have arrested a convicted drug trafficker from Mexico accused of taking part in the Gulf Cartel ordered kidnapping and execution of a man in the border city of Mission, Texas; the cartel team took the wrong man.

Court documents obtained by Breitbart Texas tell about how a missing cocaine load was the reason a Gulf Cartel commander sent a kidnapping crew into Hidalgo County where they staked out and tried to kidnap several targets. Eventually they took an innocent man, tortured him, and hauled him into Mexico where according to prosecutors he was executed.
