Mish Talk – by Mike Shedlock

President Obama made a foolish decision to not welcome China in the formation of the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP).

It was ludicrous for Obama to leave China out of things. China is the second biggest economy in the world, third if you treat the EU as a block.  Continue reading “Australia Snubs Obama, Dumps TPP, Opts for China-Sponsored Trade Deal”

Macomb County, MI — A local news company’s investigation into a young mother’s tragic in-custody death has uncovered disturbing details and exposes, at best, criminal negligence, and, at worst, deliberate torture.

When she was thrown in jail, 37-year-old Jennifer Meyers hadn’t physically hurt anyone. Meyers had fallen behind on her child support payments and instead of allowing this mother to keep working to actually help her children, a judge threw her in a cage for 30 days. She would only last 12 of those days.   Continue reading “Deputies Do Nothing as Young Mother Dies in Jail Begging for Help — Serving 30-Days for Late Payments”

Cannabis is now legal in a majority of states in the US, but the federal agencies are still doing what they can to limit the freedoms of cannabis users.

Even though the US Department of Health and Human Services holds a patent on the the use of cannabinoids for medical treatment, Patent No. 6630507: “Cannabinoids as antioxidants and neuroprotectants”, cannabis is still classified as a Schedule 1 controlled substance which, according to the FDA and DEA, means that it has no approved medical use and has a high potential for abuse. The establishment media is dying. This is not a biased view coming from “alternative media,” it is a fact borne out by metrics and opinion polls from within the establishment itself. It was true before the recent election, and is guaranteed to accelerate after their shameless defense of non-reality which refused to accept any discontent among the American population with standard politics.

Now, with egg on their face after the botched election coverage, and a wobbling uncertainty about how they can maintain multiple threads of a narrative so fundamentally disproven, they appear to be resorting to their nuclear option: a full shut down of dissent.   Continue reading “Establishment Media Declares War On Their Competition As “Fake News””

Aleppo, Syria – Many Americans have a hard time understanding how sanctions are an act of war, since they are guarded from the consequences of sanctions that their government carries out against other nations.

According to a survey conducted in the midst of the first war in Iraq, it was determined that 4% of Iraq’s population, a total of roughly a half million people, died as a result of US sanctions. The sanctions made it impossible for people to get clean water and decent food, creating a body count that seems “natural” and is not often considered an official casualty of war.   Continue reading “US Sanctions Forcing Syrian Children with Cancer to Suffer and Die By Denying them Food & Medicine”

Julian Assange cautioned all of us a while back, in the vein of revelations similar to those provided by Edward Snowden, that Google — the insidious search engine with a reputation for powering humanity’s research — plays the dark hand role in furthering U.S. imperialism and foreign policy agendas.

Now, as the Wikileaks founder faces days of questioning by a Swedish special prosecutor over rape allegations inside his Ecuadorian Embassy haven in London today — and particularly in wake of the presidential election — Assange’s warning Google “is not what it seems” must be revisited.   Continue reading “Julian Assange — ‘Google is Not What it Seems’ — They ‘Do Things the CIA Cannot’”

One of the more perplexing theories to emerge explaining the failure of Hillary Clinton’s presidential bid, is that popular news curators and aggregators such as Google and Facebook had distributed news created by “fake” and “false” websites, thus influencing public opinion.  So, in an attempt to curb such websites, a move some consider tantamount to censorship, Google and Facebook announced measures aimed at halting the spread of “fake news” on the internet by targeting how the creators of this alleged “phony content” make money: advertising.   Continue reading “Google Will Punish “Fake News” Websites By Halting Ads”

GrubHub CEO Matt Maloney recently caused a stir over an email to employees expressing his opinions on the 2016 US presidential election.

As Matt Weinberger previously reported for Business Insider, Maloney wrote: “While demeaning, insulting and ridiculing minorities, immigrants and the physically/mentally disabled worked for Mr. Trump, I want to be clear that this behavior — and these views, have no place at GrubHub. Had he worked here, many of his comments would have resulted in his immediate termination.”   Continue reading “Yes, you can be fired for expressing your political views at work”

USA –  -(Ammoland.com)-  It was winter, and our 2 year old had an earache.  Even though both my wife and I are doctors, she’s always insisted that our children see the pediatrician when they’re sick.

I was working the swing shift, so daytime sick call fell to me.

Fortunately, the pediatrician was able to see him right away, and neither of us were surprised when her exam revealed an ear infection.  I thanked her for her time, and after a brief chat, headed over to the pharmacy with my son in tow to pick up the antibiotic she had prescribed.    Continue reading “Universal Background Checks for Everything!”
