LANSING, Mich. — New legislation introduced by Michigan Democrats seeks to make it a felony to own weapons defined as assault weapons.

Moscow military experts have said Vladimir Putin will not back down amid escalating tensions between the global superpowers, blasting the White House’s “aggressiveness”.
But Kremlin military chief Lt Gen Yevgeny Buzhinsky described the provocative action as “full-scale confrontation”.
The retired general added: “Of course there is a reaction. As far as Russia sees it, as Putin sees it, it is full-scale confrontation on all fronts. Guadalajara (Mexico) (AFP) – Five men and a woman have been found alive on a road in western Mexico with their hands amputated and their foreheads marked with the word “I’m a thief.”

The following tweets posted by WikiLeaks yesterday set off a massive bout of speculation over the fate of Julian Assange who has been holed up in the Ecuadorian embassy in London for nearly 4 years. There has been much speculation that the sudden change in support for Assange from the Ecuadorian government was prompted by political leverage being asserted by the Obama administration to thwart the release of emails that are proving to be very damaging to the Hillary presidential campaign. In what may be the first official retaliation against Julian Assange and Wikileaks since the organization started disseminating the hacked Podesta emails, this morning WikiLeaks announced it has “activated contingency” plans after Assange’s internet link was intentionally cut off by a state party, WikiLeaks has said in a tweet. The head of the House Oversight Committee said Friday that there may be allegations of “quid pro quo” between a top aide to Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton and an FBI official detailed in newly released documents from the bureau’s investigation of Clinton’s private email server from her time as secretary of State.
Rep. Jason Chaffetz (R-Utah) has not reviewed the documents released Friday, he told Fox News, but based on briefings he said “there was an alleged quid pro quo” between State Department Undersecretary for Management Patrick Kennedy and an FBI official over a classified email. The decision to let Hillary Clinton off the hook for mishandling classified information has roiled the FBI and Department of Justice, with one person closely involved in the year-long probe telling FoxNews.com that career agents and attorneys on the case unanimously believed the Democratic presidential nominee should have been charged.
The source, who spoke to FoxNews.com on the condition of anonymity, said FBI Director James Comey’s dramatic July 5 announcement that he would not recommend to the Attorney General’s office that the former secretary of state be charged left members of the investigative team dismayed and disgusted. Two weeks ago when the US broke off bilateral relations with Russia over the ongoing Syrian proxy war, we reported that as part of America’s “next steps” would be a discussion on military options.
