WASHINGTON, June 14 (UPI) — U.S. National Security Adviser Susan Rice said the proposed military aid package to Israel is larger than any the United States has ever offered to any country.
The 10-year aid program would give Israel up to $40 billion to upgrade its military aircraft and missile defense systems, and to defend against militants in Lebanon and the Gaza Strip, and al-Qaida and Islamic State affiliates in Syria and Egypt. Red Hot Chili Peppers
As it would appear, the Red Hot Chili Peppers gained a new member in their band by the name of Senator Steve Daines (R), Montana. Daines cannot resist giving away what is not his to give away, the norm these days rather than the exception for elected officials. The other “norm” is to keep submitting legislation until they sneak, pass, force, or redact it into law. Daines is a kind of quiet, unassuming man who is conservative at first appearance and first words. He was opposed to the CKST (Consolidated Kootenai & Salish Tribes) Water Compact that has been ratified into state law and is now merely awaiting Federal approval (and funding, naturally). Social change network CREDO Action has amplified its call to stop the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP), calling for “an onslaught of grassroots opposition” coupled with a “firewall” of Democratic resistance in the House of Representatives to prevent the trade deal from being rammed through Congress.
In a video released Wednesday, CREDO combines footage of presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton, Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.), and Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) speaking out against the TPP, and urges viewers to sign a petition that calls on House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi to help stop a “lame-duck” vote on the TPP. Choosing secrecy over transparency, a federal judge has issued a protective order withholding the bulk of the government’s evidence from the public in the Bunkerville standoff case.
The four-page order, written by U.S. Magistrate Judge Peggy Leen, prohibits defense teams for all 19 defendants from publicly disclosing grand jury transcripts, FBI and police reports, witness statements and other documents the government collected during its investigation into the 2014 armed standoff between Bundy family forces and law enforcement.

With the backing of tanks, Israeli military bulldozers have entered the demilitarized zone that divides Israel and the Syrian Golan areas, constructing a set of anti-tank trenches and fortifications 300-500 meters inside the DMZ.
This is the first time that the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) have operated openly on the Syrian side of the border since the beginning of the Syrian civil war some five years ago. No opposition or protest from Syrian President Bashar Assad in Damascus has been offered. Continue reading “Israeli Bulldozers Enter DMZ with Tanks in Tow”
