It was a tale of two preppers from two different worlds.
A while back, a reporter from the Daily Show named Desi Lydic went to visit preppers who have entirely different worldviews with one thing in common – they both believe the end could be near.
One of the men she visited with was Rick Austin, a household name in the conventional prepping world. Austin is the author of such treasures as The Secret Garden of Survival, The Secret Greenhouse of Survival, and Secret Livestock of Survival. He is a Trump supporter but isn’t letting down his guard with his choice in office.
The liberal prepper featured didn’t disclose his name and wore a mask on the interview. He doesn’t believe in guns but he has a katana. There was also a guest from LA who was selling fancy but impractical bug out bags complete with champagne and caviar. Because who knows when you might need to make a toast while you’re bugging out to the wilderness? And before you ask, yes, these really exist and sell for $4,995. You can even get a complimentary monogram and free shipping.
Of course, the mainstream media always makes preppers out to look as loony as possible and the entire thing was filmed tongue-in-cheek. Some of the views were so … unusual … that if I hadn’t actually known Rick Austin was the real deal, I’d be convinced the whole thing was satire. Now, I’m left to wonder…do people really think like that?

So he has moral objections to using a gun for self-defense, but using a katana is perfectly fine and dandy? What a brainwashed moron.
Generally speaking, “liberal” (or, more accurately, modern leftist) political beliefs wouldn’t necessarily be disadvantageous if the SHTF, but pacifism and/or hostility toward guns would be obvious exceptions.
Communist beliefs may not affect per se a commie’s ability to prepare for SHTF, but their political views will most definitely cause them to get a bullet in the head. When this kicks off, anyone against the Bill of Rights and a Republican (as in Republic of, by and for the People, NOT Republicrat) form of government has just showed their hand, that they are not only the offspring of those who have done this to us, but are also the most likely to reassert the beliefs that caused this crisis to begin with.
The Daily Show has morphed into TrumpHate Central with deifying the Clintons to where I can’t be in the same room if it is on anymore than I can stand listening to screeching fingernails on a blackboard.

That “ninja” is gonna need more than that bag for a snack. Maybe his plan is to survive long term off body fat? Either way, he can “not believe in guns” all he wants but they are very real and he will learn that. A liberal trusts in the govt to provide them with ALL things that the Bill of Rights states we are naturally endowed with to secure for ourselves. So does a conservative, if you abide by labels. It is up to US, as its origin is to cast OFF tyrannical govt, NOT feed it to grow to leviathan.
