Janet Yellen is currently the Vice Chair of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System. Previously, she was President and Chief Executive Officer of the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco, Chair of the White House Council of Economic Advisers under President Bill Clinton, and Professor Emerita at the University of California, Berkeley’s Haas School of Business.  

She was born in Brooklyn, New York, the daughter of Anna (née Blumenthal) and Julius Yellen, a doctor, on August 13 1946.

She is married to, and has co-authored a number of papers with, Nobel Prize-winning economistGeorge Akerlof, whom she met in the fall of 1977 when they were both economists at the Fed board. They married the following June and left the Fed to teach at the London School of Economics. Their only child, now a university economics professor, knew he wanted to go into economics by the time he was 13, according to CNBC.

  1. I have a question. We know the Federal Reserve is a private cartel of banks and this being true how does the President get to pick the Chairman when it isnt a federal agency and then our Congress has to approve it. This is very perplexing to me. Can you think of any other private company or business where any president names the Chairman?

  2. The Fed is a jew created private company. Its been jewish run
    since it was created. Its the exact type of thing that our
    founding fathers fought a revolution to be free of.
