Georgia police suspended for cursing in speech to students about school bus behavior

Fox News

A pair of Dalton police officers have been suspended after a school bus surveillance camera recorded a profanity-laced speech they delivered to a group of middle school students.

The Dalton Daily Citizen reports two officers were addressing a group of between 20 and 50 students from Dalton Middle School Nov. 11 when they gave an expletive-laden speech to them about their behavior.

The bus driver pulled over and called police because she felt students on board were getting out of control.

Department officials say both officers were suspended for two days without pay, required to do 40 hours of community service at a local youth programs, and will undergo verbal communication training.

The department received a complaint about the incident from one of the student’s parents.

Bus Cam Shows Dalton Officers Swearing At Students

It’s a caught-on-tape moment you have to hear to believe. Two Dalton Police Officers hurling the f-bomb and other four-letter words at children on a school bus. Now those cops are in a heap of trouble with not only parents – but the city as well.

Dalton Police Chief Jason Parker says they usually keep things like these under wraps. But this time, he says he felt the community needed to know what happened. Many we spoke with say an officer should never use offensive language to make a point, even if the children themselves are using four-letter words.

She can’t f****** focus on what she’s doing? What if she flips the bus over or hits somebody? You think it’s f****** funny when you’re all hurt or throwing up because your hurt. What’s funny then, Officer John Gurrieri says on the bus.

Along with veteran officer Steven Collins, Gurrieri was was dispatched to Glenwood Avenue. That’s where a bus driver called 911, saying more than 50 kids on her bus were out of control and she couldn’t focus on driving safely.

Do ya’ll in the back understand what’s happening? The Dalton Police is coming out here, the bus driver yelled at students.

When Officer Gurrieri arrives, it’s what he says that got him suspended, not how he says it.

You’re hiding your face. Look at me like a man. You wanna grow up and be a man.

  1. Oh yeah that bad lady. They can do it but don’t you try. I am not sanctioning theft but look at what we see banks do it, politicians have inside trading, police do it, the stock brokers do it and even Trump does it. By the way did Hillary ever pay off those venders she cheated on for he last run for the presidency?

Poor lady she doesn’t have a chance.

    1. I refer to a line from forest gump: stupid is as stupid does. what else do you expect out of these po-lice morons?

dont forget- do as i say not as i do.(leo motto)

  2. Wow, only a suspension. Man, if I did that, I would get charged with disorderly conduct, reckless behavior, verbal assault and I’m sure there are plenty of hidden city ordinances (aka penal codes) that state that you cannot swear on a school bus or in public in a group of more than 4 people, either. Since the one town of Quincy has a city ordinance that doesn’t allow you to congregate with more than 4 people on the sidewalk, then I’m sure there is something similar in there when being on a school bus.

Oops! There I go again, thinking. Ugh! I gotta stop doing that. I mean he’s a cop. The law is waived for him. It’s not anywhere in the Constitution or Bill of Rights but it must be true. It’s just gotta. (sarcasm)
