No Good Deed Goes Unpunished: Man Gives 75 Cents to Homeless Person, Ends Up in Handcuffs

handcuffsThe Daily Sheeple – by Lily Dane

A man was handcuffed and detained for over an hour after giving a homeless man 75 cents.

Greg Snider was driving in downtown Houston when he pulled into a parking lot to take a business call.  A homeless man approached his car and asked him for money:

“That’s when the homeless man came up to me. He said, ‘Hey my name is Dave. I’m from Dallas. I’m down on my luck. Do you have any change?’”

Snider gave the man 75 cents and drove away. After he pulled onto I-10, a police car with flashing lights and sirens blazing appeared behind him.

“I put my hazards on to let him know, ‘Hey, I see you,’” said Snider. “This is a really bad part of I-10 to be pulled over on, so I was trying to find a safe place to pull over.”

He was not prepared for what happened when the officer approached his car:

“He’s screaming. He’s yelling. He’s telling me to get out of the car. He’s telling me to put my hands on the hood,” said Snider.

Snider said the cop pulled him out of the car, threw him in handcuffs, and put him in the back of the police car. He said 10 more police cars quickly arrived on the scene.

“They’re like, ‘We saw you downtown. We saw what you did,’” said Snider. “I was like, ‘Are you kidding me? I gave a homeless man 75 cents.’”

The officer accused Snider of giving the homeless man drugs and asked to search his car. Snider consented to the search, and drug-sniffing dogs were brought in.

After spending an hour cuffed in the back of the officer’s car, Snider was told no drugs were found and he was free to leave:

“He said everything was a misunderstanding and that I was free to go,” said Snider.

Apparently the officers found the situation amusing. Snider said they were laughing about it, but he doesn’t find the incident funny at all – the dogs damaged the interior of his car.

Snider has filed a complaint with the police Internal Affairs Department.  Local 2 news contacted Houston police, and a spokesperson confirmed that the complaint was filed, but could not comment.

  1. This guy is a perfect example of what is F`in wrong with amerika these last 30 years or so. The average type good guy tries to help the homeless/disadvantaged and the pig cop see it and they will harrass you and look for any reason to lock ya up for as long as they can. Yea, this guy is lucky the damn bottom feedin` cops didn`t plant drugs or a stolen weapon in his car. Hell he is lucky the cops didn`t shoot him and say that he attacked them. Talk about useless eaters, well I say no they are not, I say that them cops are useless eatin` scumbags…………Talk about crimes against the people, well the cops and the govt. are committing crimes against the people all the time, every day, and are getting more andmore corrupt and criminal day by day !!!!!!! 😈 😡

  2. well oh well im not surprised..it is obvious that the police in this circus called the untied snakes have become bat shit kill crazy..Christ on a glow in the dark crucifix I would rather call the mafia for help than them….these crazy police are real psychopaths..with guns..

  3. “The officer accused Snider of giving the homeless man drugs and asked to search his car. Snider consented to the search, and drug-sniffing dogs were brought in.”

It has been posted on the trenches by many, do NOT consent to a search! This guy is damn lucky that they did not plant anything in his car! Police dogs are trained by their handlers to act like they’ve found something when in fact, no drugs are in the vehicle. The gestapos in our country will continue this behavior unabated as there is absolutely no consequences for the officers committing these crimes on we the people.

    1. The consequences will be extreme if the clueless ever figure it out.

Sure taking their damn time about it, though.

    2. “It has been posted on the trenches by many, do NOT consent to a search!”

Exactly! Of course, that wouldn’t have stopped them from arresting him for an “interfering with a public servant” charge like Round Rock police do.

  4. “Snider has filed a complaint with the police Internal Affairs Department.”

Yea, I did that too with the Round Rock police. Good luck with that. It doesn’t do a damn thing but document it and then exonerate the officer as he followed police policy, since all Internal Affairs Departments are FOR the police and NOT for the people.

  5. I’m thinking maybe the beggar from Dallas, TX was not from Dallas and was a police plant to get them to harass this guy for fun and extortion.
